Actually, the pickup (top side) is 29.5" from the nut on a Stingray (75cm), while it's 30" (76cm) on a Kiloton.

I've sold a lot on Reverb and Sweetwater's Gear Exchange used site without any issues (knock on wood). G&L's are a tough sell on the used market. You'll have people low ball the heck out of you or others that will only jump when the specs are exactly what they want. Selling any G&L is a patience game that's for sure.

My kilo sold on Reverb in 4 days just last month, priced around the same as the one discussed here.

Honeyburst is pretty awesome. I think that finish would look great with a rosewood fingerboard with pearl blocks. Or even the no dot option.

I agree. I love my Tribby honeyburst M's!

That's the Tribute version for Honeyburst.
I agree that it should be Cherryburst because of the dominant reddish content, however the official finish name and what has been universally accepted for the Tribute M-, and L- series as well (see below), is Honeyburst.

Below is a pic of a Tribute M-2000 that I once owned. I could not get the sound out of it that I wanted, so I sold it after having it for only a few months. My bad! I tried to buy it back from the buyer, but to no avail. I love this finish and have personally referred to it as orangeburst. It really is a beautiful finish with many names!

Awesome! Just a couple of days ago, I was thinking about an SB-2 in that exact configuration (CAR/black/maple), and your pic confirms it looks fantastic. I love my SB-2, but would prefer a maple fretboard and a more exciting finish than my Vintage White.

Thanks! White and rw is cool. Personally Im a sucker for any of the metallics with maple necks. If one were available I would put a black anodized guard on it.

Mine:

After unsuccessful attempts to repair by my own, I ordered a new guard from Pickguard Planet.
And used an angled jack.
They have posted my SB-2 (1999) on their website since the change (ref. PG605).

When I got my Tribute L2000, I just used it as it came out of the box. Action was fine so I did not bother to do much in terms of set up. Found the sound to be a just average, esp in passive mode. No full and rich tone.

Today, I decided to adjust the pick up height. Straight out of the box they were like 6-7mm, that's about 1/4" (when last fret is held down). Now I set it at 4mm and the L2000 growls!

Lesson learnt … don't be lazy.

Finally gigged my G&L Tribute JB2 last night. I had some custom pickups made and it sounded so good. Played really well, too. The action is pretty good. I wish I could get it just a touch lower but after playing it for set I got used to it. I used to play jazz basses all the time and went to soaps, but it certainly sounded nice in the mix. Fast little neck for things like "Footloose." Everyone still thinks my Roscoe Century 5 is the best overall and I suppose it is. I have played that bass for 13 years and could play it the entire night, but I think the G&L will come along as my "backup" and I'll probably use it for things here and there, like "Footlose" for example…or just to change things up.

Gibson tried that idea once, but with a single pickup. Was it the "Grabber", or …? I never saw too many around, only in a music store.
