G&L is now officially in the block business and it looks great!
It's funny Sean. I love the great output of these j pickups, I'm just an MFD lover at heart.I felt the same way about my MJ5. In the end, the J pups were not anywhere close to being as good as the MFD's. I ended up selling it so, you're not alone. The next Jazz V I get with be passive.
OK, I can do my penance. There, I updated my avatar to show my L-2500.To be forgiven, you shall now change your avatar to a G&L instrument (once only).
I'm interested in hearing the result of the DG in an L2K.So guys, here's the backstory. I've had my G&L since the early 90's. Was my #1 until the last 5 years when I switched to active Spectors. I cannot bear to sell my G&L, but I can't stand to not play her. She plays great, just isn't sounding anywhere close to what I want. The bass has already been modified from a L1000 to a faux L2000 with an additional pickup, so I'm not worried about resale. Am I about to commit blasphemy by installing an active preamp? I have a Darkglass Tone Capsule incoming, so I think I'm going to give it a shot..........Anyone else here use an active preamp besides a G&L? Just wondering........
One one hand, I wish I did have an M-2500 to trade with you. That MJ-5 is really nice looking bass!Hey everyone, just putting this thread out there in the club only as a feeler. Two weeks ago I just bought a perfect 2014 G&L MJ 5. I love this bass in every way. It is beautiful to look at, and sounds and plays better than any jazz bass I have ever owned. The pickups are dead quiet. My only problem is, as much as the jazz pickups are fantastic in every way. I am missing my MFD's. Does anyone have an M2500 they would want to trade me? I'm looking for one in orange, cherryburst or red preferably. Must have a maple board, made in U. S. only. With case and G&L docs.Lastly must be ash or empress. If interested please pm me. Mine is my avatar. If additional information is needed. Please pm me. Thanks Joe.
Magic. It's not mine. But G&L is now officially in the block business and it looks great!
Yeah, I doubt it's up long. Reverb tends to have overpriced gear and $950 shipped seems a fair price for that instrument.Saw that too. It's about the price I'd pay for an LB100 used.
That's odd. I don't think they've ever changed sizes.I can't seem to find a 9 volt battery that will fit into my 1986 L-2000. I just pulled out a Rayovac, but a new Rayovac won't slide into the battery cavity (if I force it in, I'm afraid it will never come out again). Energizers won't go in either. Have they changed the specs on 9 volts recently? I don't really want to dremel out the cavity. Anyone else seen this and know of a "skinny" 9 volt brand that will work?
Duracell. I have had this issue come up before too. I just did a quick search and Taylor recommends using Duracells in their guitars for this very reason.I can't seem to find a 9 volt battery that will fit into my 1986 L-2000.
