So, G&L finished putting together my SB-1, but there's one thing I'd like clarified. My dealer or G&L themselves are the address, but seeing how it's the weekend figured there's no harm in asking here:
This bass is not Satin Frost, yeah? The description on social media usually includes it in the description and this one's lacks it. While it's not easy to judge 'natural' finishes off of one photograph, it looks glossy to me.

I have two glossy G&Ls and one frost, and this def looks glossy to me. (Gloss of the veeeeeery nice kind.)

Nope, the M-2500 is (thankfully) still around, though for some reason G&L hasn't added it to the new web site. New ones keep showing up on the factory stock list, and it's included in the current models list in the knowledgebase over on guitarsbyleo.com, which has info about new models, finishes, specs, etc.

Their new website is a breath of fresh air, but like you said, there seems to be a few things missing. Also, if I wanted to order a bass with a QS neck and specific paint job, do I have to go through the CS shop?

Nope.

Go through a dealer and just order what you want. I highly recommend PM’ing Greg @RocketMusic. He’s awesome to work with and can get you an even better deal than typical.

Had a good time with my M2500 a couple nights ago. Drummers out of town so we played an acoustic (well guitars anyway) gig with a percussionist using a cajone. I used my M2500 with a markbass 210 combo. Sounded great! I haven’t been using the bass much because I prefer my L2500 but on a whim I just dimed all the EQ knobs and I actually found that it sounds a lot closer to my L models that way. Might be my imagination but it seems like it. Now I’m exited to use it more often.

IMHO, it's unlikely, but nothing to loose if you ask G&L directly or an approved retailer (Greg at Rocket Music, see post #7044 above).
I was thinking of that 4+1 JB-5 neck for sale (with a serious blemish) on the G&L on-line store, but likely US shipping only.
BUT: it's a 20 fret neck (4 neck screws) , while the Kiloton or the L2500 are 21 frets with 6 screws.
So, this one may be meaningless to you, yet from time to time, various necks are available from the store.

Strange thing happened the other night:

While preparing my #1 G&L for yesterday's worship service at church, I decided to give the neck a slight 1/8 - 1/4 turn adjustment. The truss rod motion was smooth and easy using the wrench that came with the instrument. Nice and smooth, that is until there was a little resistance and all of a sudden it happened, "snap!" The top of the threaded rod busted right off. The amount of resistance was so minor I can only imagine there was a preexisting crack in the material...(?)

I'm the original owner, special ordered through Rocket Music in early/mid 2016. In my 30+ years of playing/maintaining guitars, I've never had such a thing happen before-- and I know to make small adjustments and stop turning once you feel resistance. Anyone else experience such a thing?

Just wanted to get a few opinions before contacting the dealer :)

Yikes. Sorry to hear that, Randy!

The good news is G&L has a 10 year warranty on the USA instruments, so you're covered. You can reach the G&L customer service folks at 714-897-6766 to get the repair process started.

Let me know if you need a copy of your receipt to show that you're in the warranty period.

Yikes! Sorry to hear about that but I don't think there is anything that can be done at this point short of contacting the dealer. My guess is a new neck is needed but they should take care of you. Please report back and let us know how it goes. Nice purple!

Edit - nvm, things move fast around here :D

they built me a replacement for my 94 LB100 when the same thing happened, it didn't take that long and the new neck is amazing to play and look at, good luck
