Oh, jeez. Ya'll had it sorted out prior to my last post. LOL That's what I get for replying before reading to the end of a thread.

I recently bought an El Toro locally, but almost immediately got to doubting whether the neck is good for my hand at all. Well, I did a setup and since I was able to lower the strings slightly, but enough to make the bass comfortable to play, I discovered its sleeper quality. This bass is a cannon. My bass teacher brought his to the lesson, it's a mahogany body El Toro but considerably more worn, as it is a piece of Finnish rock history. Doing the setup, I found out that one of the saddle height screws has stripped the Allen head and cannot be turned, On another saddle, the intonation screw has jammed.

Question; Where would I be able to source proper screws for the saddle height? So far, I have only found a saddle set from G & L, but I would like to get by with just the screws.

May not help you mate but my local hardware stores seem to stock hex grub screws that I need in packs of 10, 20 etc.

Pulled the trigger and placed my order with Greg! Bass is going to look like the one in the photo but with a tort guard. I opted for the ebony board and vintage sized frets. Otherwise pretty standard selections! Can’t wait I have an LB-100 now but the neck is too wide for what I’m doing now so it doesn’t get played much at all

Yes I got matching HS!! Post pics when yours arrives. I went a little crazy with the add ons but want this to be a lifelong bass

Ha, I did the same for my L2K. It was pricey, but I wanted it to be the sort of instrument that I could hand down through the years, rather than simply being a part of my ever-rotating lineup.

I'm looking at G&L ASAT solid, last 1990s, in great condition Looking for opinions on the build quality, then and now. Have they gotten better with maturity? Is that period considered a good one for G&L? I'm mostly a Fender guy and know there are eras considered better than others.
Any input is appreciated

If you can believe it, the nearby shop where I ordered my SB-2 has a lefty Kiloton in stock. I think I need to go give it a try...

Some crappier pics attached. Am busy trying it out.

The neck is unbelievably comfortable to play. It's easy to reach anywhere on the fretboard and the fretting feels "light" for lack of a better word.

From what I'm feeling, it's a pretty shallow C profile with a nice round edge. The neck is wider than a typical G&L neck though, but it's hard to tell.

The vintage frets and 9.5 radius I think worked out perfectly. I know some people can't tell, but for whatever reason the extra "wood feel" and curve in my fingers helps me play with a lighter touch. I can't put my finger on it! Bum ta tiss.

The closest neck to this one that I've felt before was on the Road Worn P bass from Fender. That's the 1.75" nut, 7.5" radius, C profile neck with vintage frets.

This makes me want mine even more. I’m right at the 4 week mark so it should literally be done any day now.

I would be satisfied with those but I can't source these not knowing the U.S. designation for the saddle screws. I live in a Metric country and the U.S. screws and bolts are quite undecipherable to the hardware store people. There are of course specialty shops but even then I would need to know what screw to ask for.
