G&L Club Part 7

I would love to know if someone in the club has my redburst L2000. It was sent from the factory with the redburst finish, a beautiful birdseye maple neck #8 jazz style and special k wiring. It was a bit too heavy for me though at over 10lbs. i 'm wondering if someone still has it.

Keen to see the finished product.....I've always wanted to "make" a Warmoth Jazz bodied bass with the 2+2 headstock and L2000 pickups/preamp. It will happen one day....

Am I right in saying you purchased a 2nd hand lefty tele body or was someone else?

Who has done some adventuress experimenting lowering and heightening pole pieces? On the neck pickup I'm thinking of lowering the 2 closest to the neck on E and A and lowering the 2 closer to the bridge on the D and G to form a kind of reverse P.

I can get rid of my light overdives that I used to use for extra harmonic character and boost for stacking. This bass has plenty of character and output on its own, and just generally sounds brilliant and exciting totally clean.

Hi everyone, I really miss my LB100. Would like one with a jazz #8 neck. Vintage frets and matching HS a plus. Maple or ebony board. Can't justify the funds of starting a new build. I have a couple beater Ps I could trade.. thanks!

Welcome to the wonder that is the L2x000. I have 2, the pickups and preamp are magic. I don't adjust individual pole pieces, but I find that screwing the pickups right down results in the best tones. Up close to the strings I find the tone to be too bassy and uncontrollable.

Mozztronics on the board!
For the record I also run the preamp passive, pickups both on, parallel, bass at about 70-80% and treble anywhere between 50 and 100% depending on the song. Gives me a decently bright double humbucker tone with nice thick bottom end - good rock pick tone. Solo neck pickup does a good P impersonation. Bridge pickup gives a nice burpy staccato funk fingerstyle tone.
Switch to series to destroy with all of the above, but adding some real thump.
