Correct, there are 4 levels of Fender. Squier, MIM Fender, Am Fender, and G&L.Thanks! The Fullerton series is incredible.
G&L is the better Fender
With just a sprinkle of Japan here and there to spice things up !

I've tried that, but didn't notice any appreciable difference.
So, I took a somewhat more "extreme" approach.
Rather than lower the chosen pole pieces, I decided to remove them completely, and raise the remaining pole pieces higher than normal.
To my ear, this was enough to make a noticeable difference in tone, and get a psuedo-reverse P tone.
This is the type of thinking, outside your sox, we need to make the most of our musical journey...

Can anyone tell me if there are any differences between the Fullerton Standard JBs and Fullerton Deluxe models?
This is what I get from readings.
Fullerton standard JB is what is now know as an option order Bass . Either a dealer orders it with certain options for stock , or you order it from the dealer with your own choice of options.
Fullerton Deluxe is a line of semi mass produced JB 's made with some of the more popular or " desirable " options and sent to the dealer for stock and sale

The fullerton standard series is no longer produced, but they are pretty much the same aside from not being plek'd, no hard case and a satin finish neck
After a year of contemplation I am checking out a US M2500 tomorrow. Excited to potentially be back in the club after selling my L2000 in 2009. I have never had a 5 string with through body strings, what are you all doing on your 5 strings? Through body or top load? A mix? Usually I restring a bass right away after buying which is why I ask. Planning on putting on DR Pure Blues 45-125 on it
Trust me, with an L-2500, go through body. Don't top load. How do I know you ask?
New floating bridge for G&L L-2500?
The previous owner of my L-2500 made that mod, so I've always top-loaded the strings since buying it. That (completely reversible an non-invasive) mod seems to do exactly what it's supposed to do. The bridge on that bass feels as solid and secure as on any on any bass I've owned.
EDIT: For what it's worth, I always use stiff, high tension strings so I would have made the mod myself if it wasn't already done. But, as I said, that bridge is SOLID now, even with the strings I always use.

Pure Blues string through just fine (per my L-2500). With sets that have a super-thick or vulnerable B-string, you can string-through the E->G strings and then top-load just the B. This is the bridge on my M2500 strung with TI Jazz Flats showing that approach. Bridge is plenty stable with 4 strings strung through.

Can anybody tell me what exactly the bass and treble cut controls do? Are they set at a certain frequency or is it a moving shelf? I'm pretty sure I know how the treble control works, providing it's the same as a normal tone control, but is the bass the same but reversed? Which essentially makes it an adjustable hpf.
Bonus points for treble boost switch frequency info. I know that sound is all that matters, but I just love knowing exactly what's happening when I switch or move controls.
