G&L Club Part 7

Swapped out my white JB pick guard for a new black one. Love it!

Beautiful JB2, congrats! I love JB2s...

Anyone know what the upcharge is for a flame maple top (not quilted). I don't want to disturb Greg at Rocket for this...

Thanks!

Consider me disturbed! LOL Just kidding.

The PFMT (Premium Flame Maple Top) option is $429 MSRP and you'd see it advertised for $300.

Just FYI - I've got a handy sticky thread in my sponsored forum here on TB with all the G&L options and pricing:
G&L Pricing | TalkBass.com

That info should all be correct and current, though most of the links are dead after G&L redesigned their website. One of these days, I'll update the links to get them working again...

My pot shafts are solid, the reason I asked for what to search for is I won't order knobs from the G&L website, I'll most likely order from eBay. Just need to know what I need to search for so that whatever I get fits.
Thanks everyone.

Try a site called TubesAndMore.com. They have lots of knobs. Look for ones with a set screw that fit 1/4 inch shafts.

I've been needlessly teasing myself with thoughts of the Kiloton, looking and listening. I noticed that the humbucker is sufficiently close to the bridge to leave space for a split pickup:

...and I thought about how in the YouTube demos the single coil option sounds a bit underwhelming...

So pop in a split pickup and simply wire it up on the three switch as a replacement for the single coil option...

Wouldn't look great, admittedly.

Restrung my '82 L2K HOG yesterday at lunch with DR Legends flats. Took it to church rehearsal last night. This bass is a monster! When I bought it, I thought I would set it up with rounds to have at least 1 bass with round wound strings....haven't been happy with rounds on it. Need to spend a little time with the bridge setup to get the action just right as the flats sit differently and the previous owner preferred a lower action than I do but the tone is powerful.

I'm loving the DR Legends on my '81 L2K, also mahogany.
