G&L Club Part 7

So I just picked up a used Korean made L-2000 tribute. Really like it so far, but there's an issue with the bridge pickup. In parallel mode, the volume output seems normal. In series, there is a huge reduction in volume and is very thin sounding. I'm guessing there's an issue with one of the coils in the pickup or the wiring making the parallel mode actually single coil and series sound terrible. Does that sound like I'm on the right track or does anyone have another idea?

Get a small screwdriver and tap the pole pieces in each switch position to see what's active.

Looks like the G&L Tribute JB4 in turquoise mist is on sale for $299 again at MF, not just for the day.

I just bought one. I'm hoping a get a good 20 fret one this time. I was one of the very first to buy one of these in early 2019. The one I got was 21 fret (which you could not intonate) and had other issues. So it went back. Hopefully this one is a keeper.

I had the same experience--a 21 fret neck that absolutely would not intonate. I sent it back, but I talked to G&L about it. They said they had sent longer bolts to the distributor so they could replace them and it would intonate. A cheap-ass excuse, but who could blame them? I've been tempted to try for one again. The price is right and they sure are pretty...Jim

My LB100 just got done being refinished by Marty Bell. I can't wait to receive it.
