G&L Fallout Bass launch soon?

All G&Ls are heavy.

That's the rumor, but having owned 3 of them, I disagree. I doubt even my '94 at home tops 10lbs for a 34" bass and the older ones are typically heavier.

Probably a bit of both, no doubt!
I was in the music business at the time and access to whatever basses I wanted. In the late 80’s there weren’t many quality short scale basses on the market, so I found the Mustang in the Recycler for $150 with the intention of saving it for my kids. I had no idea until I first saw it that it was a custom color (Lake Placid Blue, since faded to green) with the competition stripes. Score!

I like the stripes, but only on this axe. Not sure why it looks so cool to me. I don’t usually like stripes like that on an instrument.

Strongly concur. I find racing stripe to be hackneyed and cheesy but for whatever reason, it works on this bass maybe because of the classic British Racing Green.

You're preaching to the choir. I'm trying to tell myself it complements the curves and angles of the pickguard, but man I dislike those headstocks.

Every G&L I’ve played has been above 8.5 pounds. Guitar, bass, whatever. Not necessarily a drawback, but definitely a thing. I’m sure all the exceptions will now post their experience as well.

Every G&L I’ve played has been above 8.5 pounds. Guitar, bass, whatever. Not necessarily a drawback, but definitely a thing. I’m sure all the exceptions will now post their experience as well.

So it seems that "All G&Ls that I have played are heavy." would have been a more accurate statement. Since there seem to be many light G&Ls available and many of us are playing them.
