G&L L-1000 Bleg

Very nice. The weights are great. Since these are both ash, I'm wondering if the alder will be even lighter and what the tone differences will be.
Greg that "Mary Kaye" blonde is mine and looks great, weight is fine - thanks for putting in the word with G&L. You da man.

We'll have to check serial numbers to determine this point of pride. LOL
Waiting on AudreyCashin's L1005, the most highly optioned one on Earth, and she'll let me play it!
Hey, sorry to be AWOL about this stuff today. I had to ship two of them today (that makes 3 total that have left the building). I tweaked the setup a bit on both, adjusted some knob heights, that sort of thing. They're leaving here in really, really great shape.
I've got some more weight data for those who care:
The Emerald Green L1000 is 8.6 lbs, the Natural RW L1000 w/ no face dots is also 8.6 lbs, and the Vintage Natural Lefty L-1005 is 9.6 lbs. So the good news on the weights continues.
I also took a few minutes this afternoon to record a sound clip using the Emerald Green L-1000 (Ash body, RW board). I needed to dust off a tune for a gig tomorrow, so the first part is some rusty "Hot Lanta" by the Allman Bros. The first pass is series, the second pass is parallel, and the final pass is single coil. Then I added some slap silliness at then end. Just to keep you on your toes, I screwed up the order here: it's series, single coil (very brief), then parallel. The little pops you hear are me changing the switch position, this was all one take and no gains were normalized. So series is louder, and parallel and single coil are more quiet.

I've got pictures of all of the basses taken, I just haven't had a second to get around to processing them and posting them. This weekend will be full of that activity, other than some time away for a gig Saturday afternoon/night...

^^ by the way - that was recorded direct through REDDI tube DI, and all of the controls were wide open.
9.6 lbs is good for a 5 string - weights have been good all around.
