This one is not exactly a new arrival... but the neck is! LOL

I've had this LB-100 in stock for a couple of years now (it arrived in June, 2015). A few months back, I pulled it out to answer some questions for somebody and noticed that the frets were all popping out of the top of the fretboard. Yikes!! I sent it back to G&L to get refretted. In that process they tore up the existing neck a little bit, so they just decided to make a new neck for it.

So here's a 2015 body/electronics/hardware with a brand new 2017 neck! It's pretty awesome... AND it's a pretty awesome deal, as well. $1100 shipped (CONUS) for a new G&L LB-100 with a fabulous quartersawn neck!

I also have a brand new 3-ply black pickguard here that I can throw in FOR FREE if that pushes anyone over the edge. Or if you would prefer something different (tortoishell? pearloid?), I could have one drop shipped to you for $50.

These photos were taken by me last week, so they show the new neck.

How cool is this? Danny Kortchmar is making a new record, and the guys from The Section are there to help. Along with several G&L guitars! Here's Danny with one of the new Doheny models. He's also been using an ASAT Special and an ASAT Classic.

This bass was a special order that unfortunately went awry. My customer requested it be under 9 lbs, but I neglected to mention that to G&L and that bit me in the butt. 10 lbs is the weight of this one!

I pride myself on being a details guy when it comes to special orders, but this bass is Details 1, Greg 0. :)

I wasn't planning on stocking this one, but I also wasn't going to stick anyone with a bass with my mistake all over it. So I've ordered another bass for my customer, and I'm putting this one up for sale! I'm motivated to move it, so even though this looks like one of the most expensive basses in my G&L inventory (it is loaded up with options), I'll be making somebody/anybody a heck of a deal on this one. So PM me if you're interested, and I'll shoot you my best price!

BTW - isn't this insanely gorgeous?!? It sounds like a million bucks, too.

Here's a funny/not funny story. This bass was a special order for a guy who wanted a lefty JB with a 1 5/8" nut. I didn't think twice about that neck spec, and my sales guy at G&L didn't think twice about it either. We placed the order, the bass got made, the bass got delivered, and then I shipped it on to the customer... sadly, the customer was the first one who noticed that THIS BASS HAS A 1.5" NUT. LOL. It says clear as day in the price list that the 1.5" nut is all you can get on a JB. :meh:

The customer was cool as could be about it, but he didn't want the bass without the nut width that he ordered. So back it came, and now it's looking for a home!

Yeah, that list used to be pretty short. It used to be the 5-strings were the only basses that had just one neck profile choice. But many of the new models introduced over the past few years have had model-specific neck specs and limitations.

The JB is the only 4-string with neck choice limitations. It has to come with a 1.5" Medium C profile. 9.5" is the default radius, but you can optionally change the radius to 7.5" or 12".

The JB-5 is similar: the Modern C 5 neck profile is the only choice, and 9.5" is the default radius but you can optionally choose 12" (and maybe 7.5"?).

The Kiloton 5 comes with the same neck profile as the JB-5 (Modern C 5), and 9.5" is the default radius. You can optionally change the radius to 12" (and maybe 7.5"?).

The L-2500 and M-2500 do indeed only have one neck profile and radius choice. Both models come with the 1 3/4" Medium C 5 profile and a 12" radius.

The new CLF Heritage L-2000 has it's own neck profile and radius, and there is only one choice for each spec: 1 5/8" Heritage C (more slim front to back, and old paddle headstock) and 9.5" radius.

I think that's it! Otherwise, it's 4-string models with the complete menu of neck choices available.
