G&L LB-100 Tributes?

Just picked up the White version with black pickguard and block inlays. I also have a tribute jb-2 (excellent budget jazz), but the neck seems much more refined on this one. There were no jagged edges on any frets, and it plays soooooo smoothly. The block inlays and the vintage tint just put it over the top.

Previously, I had a 2006 MIA Fender P, and I would take this Tribute P over it any day. 2006 Fenders aren't as nice as the newer models, but this G&L feels more solid than that MIA Fender from a construction standpoint. Like I said, that may not hold true for the 2018 Fenders, which have been very nice.

The sustain from the G&L bridge and 6 bolt neck is unreal. As with all G&L's, the saddle lock screw on the bridge is the key. Once you get those saddles all jammed together, the tone takes a big jump forward.

Thanks for the feedback! So the white color has a vintage tint to it? If so, then I will definitely have to get one!

My new Tribute LB-100 arrived today and I am definitely happy with it. Fantastic bass. Looks great, plays great, and sounds great. I am used to my JB-2 and SB-2 so this neck is super chunky p-bass compared to those but I like it. Guess I got lucky as there is some nice flame to the neck that I really wasn't expecting. I've got just some tiny tweaking to do like intonation and add a tiny bit of relief to the neck but it was super playable right out of the box. Awesome addition to the Tribute line. Glad they used the 6 bolt neck attachment. Not sure why they went with 4 bolt w/plate on SB-2s. Also nice that they did the burst on the back in stead of all black like my JB-2 and early burst SB-2.

I wonder why they didn't use the 6-bolt neck on the Tribute Kilotons. Not exactly a deal breaker, but…

about the same as Skylines vs. a U.S. Lakland (My experience anyway)
I have both a tribute and a U.S. Made G&L
I have both a Skyline and a U.S. Lakland

I'm not familiar with the the Skylines or G&L Tribute.
I have seen that some of these off shore instruments are heavier than there US conterparts.
How does the tribute stack up against a US made, and a MIM Fender?

I have the white LB-100. It pairs nicely with my pair of American JB-2s. Solid P-bass, and the inlays just give it a ton of 70's vibe. The 21st fret is a difference-maker, along with the legendary saddle-lock bridge. I'm happy with it...

...but I now want one of the new CLF Wunkays.

Forgot to post!

I've been waiting for European stores to start getting these. Still not listed on Thomann and Andertons has the items but a mixed up product description and none in stock yet. All three look great so I suppose there's no rush till I can decide which one to order... :)

Wanted to get opinions on this too- how does this LB-100 tribute compare to MIM fenders and US fenders? I also know but widths are the same at 1 5-8”, but is the G&l lb-100 neck thicker, thinner, or about the same as a fender p bass neck? Thanks

I want one so bad! But in 5 string to replace my Squier PJ 5. This G&L would be the shiznit.

Lucky such a mod may not be so hard for me to do! I've got a few G&L 5er necks. $89 gets a 5er bridge from the G&L store which just leaves some p-bass 5 string pickup choice.
I"m really starting to get enthused about this! This may bring me to the P-bass dark side yet! The Squier was a good start but didn't quite get me fully converted...

Anticipate a dedicated pickguard too...
