G&L LB-100 Tributes?

Mine is a tad heavy

The Tribute Kiloton is Ash for the transparent finish and Basswood for the solid finish. On the G&L site, the page for the Tribute LB-100 page is missing its specs section. Searching around, I can see references to the Natural Gloss being Ash, but elsewhere all three finishes, Natural Gloss, 3TSB and Olympic White, are listed as being Alder. Does anyone have a reliable answer? I'm very ready to believe that shop listings are confused.

The LB-100 page does have a video, however. Steve Araujo describes the three models and/or the body wood is mentioned in captions there. Either way it seemed to indicate these also are ash for transparent and basswood for solid colors. Or were. Specs may have changed. In this very thread there are people who have the white one at least and think it is ash, too. So, no I do not have a reliable answer and am as confused as you are why G&L does not add specs to the product page.

I have the Olympic White version - it’s a basswood body. (They tend to run lighter than the ash versions. Mine is 9.3 lbs.)

Excellent bass, by the way...

My new Tribute LB-100 arrived today and I am definitely happy with it. Fantastic bass. Looks great, plays great, and sounds great. I am used to my JB-2 and SB-2 so this neck is super chunky p-bass compared to those but I like it. Guess I got lucky as there is some nice flame to the neck that I really wasn't expecting. I've got just some tiny tweaking to do like intonation and add a tiny bit of relief to the neck but it was super playable right out of the box. Awesome addition to the Tribute line. Glad they used the 6 bolt neck attachment. Not sure why they went with 4 bolt w/plate on SB-2s. Also nice that they did the burst on the back in stead of all black like my JB-2 and early burst SB-2.

That is a nice looking bass. I have no doubt it sounds as good as it looks. G&L Tribute series have really upped their game the past few years. I bought a Tribute series Kiloton 2 yrs ago and don’t regret that purchase. Great import basses.
