G&L LB-100 Tributes?

Did you have to send a tracing of the original guard or do they have a template for the tribute since they already made it for you?
They insisted on me sending the original pickguard to them. They would not accept a tracing. I assume that since I had them make me one, if I ordered another, they could simply look up what I ordered before.

Just pulled the trigger on a used one online in Natural. If I don't like it, I've got 45 days to return it. Pretty sure I'm going to like it.

Bummer.

Turned out the instrument had a seized truss rod and the store manager (GC) was kind enough to email me to point it out to me and offer a deep discount. I declined. Someone up to repair one might get a smoking deal on a G&L LB-100 Tribute.

My first G&L was a 81 L1000 and it was awesome, my second was a Alpine White kiloton tribute it was really nice, its taken me awhile to warm up to the headstock shape as I never really cared for it but this LB100 is so nice I can deal with the headstock, it actually looks better with the vintage tint!

Thin front to back, wide like the Fender 50s Pbasses..comfy necks I have smallish hands feels good..
I was going to ask the same question but looks like you've answered it
I have a 57 reissue P bass and was looking for a backup. Checked out Squier CV and a few others but the G&L LB100 Tribute looks great. How is the overall feel and from the look of above comments the neck has a similar feel? I see it has the same C neck profile. I'm looking at the natural version.

The neck is great, the nut width is close to 1.75 like the 57s I have mine up for sale it’s the white one.

Just pulled the trigger on a White LB-100 tribute, due for delivery on Monday. I was really considering a Fender Vintera P but the fat neck kinda made me hesitate and want to try in person. That is fairly difficult at the moment so I had another look at the market and discovered these G&L Tributes. Everything I've seen and read says that I'll be impressed. My current bass is a 2008 CIJ Geddy Lee, which I adore, hence the hesitancy about a "full-fat" P bass neck. Really loving the look of that brown tort pickguard from earlier in the thread...

Could you send me your order reference if you still have it? I would really like one of those guards, your bass looks absolutely amazing. But having to send them the guard from the UK sounds like an ordeal.

Also, how do those geezer pups affect the sound compared to stock? I am looking mostly for classic rock p bass tones from clean to moderate dirt. Think Phil Lynott.

I'll have to look for order reference number. As far as the Geezer pups, I only installed it because I had it from another project I sold. The Geezer pups are my favorite P Bass pickup sound wise, but the stock G&L was no slouch.

Delivered! Had a quick play at lunch and I'm very happy. The build quality is excellent, and it sounds great. I love the tuners and bridge, and while the neck is a considerably fatter proposition than my Geddy, it's nothing I can't handle or that I wasn't expecting. So much bass for the money.

I have the exact same version as @Dara O CARROLL above, picked it up just after the Fourth of July, my first bass. Mine is 9.3 pounds, I feel like I got a bit lucky on the weight (although the painted version tends to run lighter than natural, being basswood versus ash).

Although new to bass, I am a decades-long guitar player, own/have owned a number of multi-$K instruments over the years. Very impressed with this instrument, very well put together, looks great, sounds fantastic!

I think someone was asking above, neck width at the nut is 1 5/8”

Great looking basses. I'm a bit surprised these haven't gained a larger following. Then again, I suppose the $500 price point is ultra-competitive, or maybe folks would rather jump up to the $700 range. Just a personal preference, but I have hard time getting past that headstock.

I just picked up a new LB 100 Tribute Saturday and took it right to a gig. What a sweet bass for the money. Mine is a tad heavy and it has a few mildly rough fret edges but nothing that I really notice while playing. Totally solid bass and probably will replace a US JB as my main player.
