G&L LB-100 Tributes?

I really want one of these but it may be odd for our big band.
Yeah, we're only a trio, but the wash lights really help tie in our stage look. Here's an acoustic show photo.

Well I really like the bass, the QC is on par with Lakland Skylines which IMO is better than Fender MIM, the pickups are punchy and full, sound deeper than my Geezers in the Lakland which I like. I like everything about this bass, the finish, the vintage looking tint on the neck. The fret ends are nice and smooth and the cherry board is beautiful against the vintage tint, what's really cool and different is the block inlays with no binding! It is a little heavier than my other 2 basses. I guess because the body is swamp ash? Anyway haven't put it down since yesterday and the Fender Flats sound killer on this bass. Such a nice bass for 539.00 with a gigbag, makes me wonder why Skylines and MIMs are priced much higher, this Tribute is just as good if not better!!

The swamp ash and that bridge add to the extra weight. You would be hard pressed to find a better bridge though. And yes, the necks are gorgeous IMO.

Nice bass! I see a white one in my future.....to go with my other 2. :) Gotta collect them all like Pokemon.

Nice tip about the Fender flats. Both of my LB100 tributes are strung with round wounds. I'll have to give them a try.

Thank you for posting these pictures! Good to see the Brazilian cherry fretboard up close. Is the white one swamp ash as well? G&L website still does not have the full specs listed but I thought I heard someone mention the body wood is different depending if it was a solid paint or a burst / natural.

Found my source for the body wood question above. It was in the demo video on the G&L Tribute LB100 page (screenshot attached). However; the information on the video could be outdated or a mistake even. It looks very nice and the body wood would not stop me from buying any one of those three models but it would be nice to know which one it is.

Swamp ash it is, basswood is light, the more I look and play this bass it’s still amazing me how good the craftsmanship is, it compares really well with the last Fender CIJ Pbass I recently sold but the fret ends on the G&L are smoother and more rounded, I love my Lakland Skyline and it’s been my main player since I had it but I do rotate my basses from gig to gig, easy when you only have two, now three. The weight shouldn’t be a problem because I stand and sit each set because I’m a lower left leg amputee but it is the heaviest bass I have now, maybe a pound heavier than my other two, it’s not a boat anchor anyways...

According to G&L's comments on one of their instagram posts, they just haven't had it added to the website yet. They are currently shipping to dealers. 2 of the dealers have already received them and have them listed on ebay and Reverb. They have also released a Tribute JB that was really hard for me to pass up. Would love to sell my JB2 and replace with the JB.... I just like the Fender Jazz shape body more.
Ah, but you lose that high E and lose the six bolt neck. Also likely heavier. I honestly think the JB-2 is the better configuration. And, it looks all business. Everything is functional.
