G&L Order Placed...the Waiting Begins!

Personally I would have hoped that some monetary settlement would have made sense. After All, G&L admitted that they dropped the ball, and you should have had your bass back a LONG time ago. I've had 2 problems in the past with my Music Man basses, and they were taken care of, NO CHARGE in less than 2 weeks.

Yeah I thought of that. It would be nice to have some money taken off, but in the end I just want the bass back.

So no word as to whether or not it was actually completed yesterday as they said. The G&L Warranty guy said he'll email me tracking when it goes out so hopefully I'll get that tonight. I was hoping to get it yesterday but I assume they probably wait 24 hours after assembly to make sure everything is stable before shipping.

G&L was kind enough to put her in the spotlight on their Facebook page. She's assembled and will most likely be shipped today

lol Well things happen though usually it seems like it always happens to me lol I usually have about a 60% success rate of when I buy an instrument or something that it doesn't have an issue of some sort.

Good news! She arrived and she plays great!

The bad news...The input jack keeps cutting out. In fact I was getting no sound at all when I first plugged it in. This is the same body and electronics that I sent back and it was fine then.

So i have to drive out of my way to my local dealer and have them take care of it. I'm happy it's something minor but after 8 months almost of waiting I'm numb to being annoyed anymore.

I'll probably make an unveiling thread when I can take some more pictures. But as for me playing this thing plugged in it will probably be next week since I can't get there until Friday. Not unless it's a quick fix. Hopefully..

The jacks that G&L use are notorious for breaking down. There is a thread about it on Bassesbyleo.com. I changed mine as well. Did the local guy fix the jack by re-soldering or by changing the jack?

You must of been like, 'You Gotta be kidding me:mad:" when you first plugged it in.

Damn. You'd think after all the attention - here, Facebook, etc. - that they would have take extra care to make sure it was perfect this time. Lets hope they at least took extra care to make sure that neck is perfect. At least a jack is a really simple quick fix.

Youngspanion, now I know why I needed to replace the jack on my G & L. ;)

Yup, I was speechless especially since it was fine 3 months ago and hasn't been played while they've had it.

I haven't brought it in yet. Most likely Friday.

I notice that I'm getting some grounding hum too that stops when I touch the strings. I can't remember if that's normal for a split coil passive pickup or not.

The neck is perfect thankfully. The action was a little low for my preference but I didn't even have to touch the neck. They reinstalled my old flats so that was nice.

Not on the LB-100 though, thats just a standard top mount jack, the long barrel side mounts are a bit of a pain if they break

It's a top mount jack (like on other P basses). All you probably need to do is take out a few screws and lift up the pickguard, then bend the jack a little bit. It should be fine after that. If not, then bring it in to be looked at.

I'll try that. I already took the pickguard off to see if there were any loose connections. When I first plugged it in nothing happened, but I didn't fiddle with the jack at that point.

Thoughts on the ground hum? I believe that's fairly normal but I'm not 100% sure. That I also don't believe was an issue when I first had the bass.

It is a fantastic bass despite the issues. My favorite Precision. I'm just incredibly disappointed with this experience and the fact that I haven't once been offered some sort of compensation for the inconvenience.
