Also has a neck plate, a 21-fret neck with square heel (can’t do a regular ol’ neck swap) and different tuners that look sort of like Guyker machines you can get off Amazon. Really doesn’t resemble anything like a G&L, I’d rather get a standard JB tribute for $50 more.

That's how I see it too. I wonder if the Placentia line signals a serious price hike ahead for the Tributes. They've been wildly popular with their great bang/buck ratio, I bet they could charge quite a bit more for them and still sell a boatload.

It’s a name of a town in Southern California, which is next to Fullerton where G&L is located. It’s also where The Bruery is based for you craft beer nerds.

With inflation pushing prices higher they’re just trying to stay alive in that price segment. The Tributes are awesome but are probably gonna end up in the $1000 range.
