G&L Porn!

Does anyone know why my pics upload sideways sometimes?
My guess would be it's in the EXIF data or in the file header. Sometimes when I drag an image from my PC to my phone the orientation is off. Exif - Wikipedia
Disclaimer: I am not an expert on image files. When this happens I drag the file to my PC and open in any image program (Paint, Paint Shop Pro, etc) and reset the orientation, then save the file.

G&L is difficult to buy and has zero distribution in the MD/DC area. The closest dealer is about 4 hours away and while GC claims to be a dealer, I've never seen a G&L bass in any of our local stores. Imagine if you could walk into to a music store and buy one as easily as a Fender, MM, Ibanez, Spector, Yamaha, etc.
Sweetwater is one of the few stores that stocks Tributes and lists weights which is a big deal if you are looking for 8 lbs. or less. They make boat anchors but also basses from my favorite weed tree, empress!
Doesn't Jive Sound in Alexandria Virginia carry G&L? Jong Lee (Jive1) used to be a moderator on this site a couple of years ago, but I think his shop is still around.

My L2k is the only bass I've seen that used threaded brass inserts for the screws on the Battery cover. Over-Engineered perhaps, but it just goes to show that Leo was NOT KIDDING on these basses. Do they still do that on the new USA built ones? Mine also has a big brass plate in the control cavity that everything is star-grounded to. I fried the preamp while doing some ill-advised tinkering with the electronics ( the less said, the better), but was able to get a a drop-in replacement from G&L. Excellent customer service too.

Great idea and one I followed up about a year ago. He has had the same 3 G&L's in stock for a long time but none that I am interested in.

Yeah, I agree with you that those Tributes are not so interesting. Rocket Music has a big inventory of US models, but as you pointed out, they are a long ways away from DC/MD.

1981 L2000 E grabbed locally. Super super clean and everything works. I believe original case and G&L documents too. This thing is the bomb! Can't wait to play it out!! View attachment 4210701

Love that blue colour. Nice Bass I had a 2000 for a while, but always wanted an early headstock L1000. Picked up this Nov 1980 about 3 weeks ago in London. With a Hiscox case..............£750 ($1000). G&Ls are great value for money super quality basses

Nice! I have an 83' with the same headstock, 3 bolt neck, and crinkle black hardware. A tank in all the right sense of the word, it will never let you down. I havent touched the neck tilt in all these years, never needed to. That one looks almost pristine, mines gotten a little "road worn", thinking about refinning it.
Nooooo don't efin refin, unless it's flake then I'm all for it ;)
