Back in 2015 I acquired my first piece of GK gear, MB200 amp head, mainly as my quiet home practice headphone amp. It served me well for my intended purpose. I did post it in this thread on Oct 29, 2015 (post #3,166) and received my official club membership number (1115). I already knew back then my "ultimate rig" would have the GK name on it.
Fast forward 10 yrs... My "ultimate rig" is finally here. Legacy 800 with Neo212-IV. I got to use it for the first time this past weekend and loved it!
The MB200 is long gone, but this one is here to stay. The only thing I will be adding as the last piece of the puzzle is a Neo112-IV. I know 800w thru three 12's would be an overkill for what I do, but what the heck, I might as well go all out and have some fun while I can. Or, I could always use the 112 as a stand-alone for more intimate settings.
Looking forward to opportunities to put this rig to good use.

I forgot to turn off my Legacy 800 head and left it in on mode for 5-6 days, covered with a protective coating. Today I finally noticed that it was on and very hot!
I tried it, and it works! Hope this doesn't cause any problems in the future.
I have to say that it is because there is a light bulb that works even when the amplifier is turned off, and sometimes it confuses me.

Obviously not ideal, but I'm sure you are fine. I have left mine on overnight many time by accident. No issues yet...Not here anyway
Just an update to my post from a couple of weeks ago with a tale of a happy reunion...
I did indicate the MB200 was long gone... Well, not anymore!
After using it as my home practice rig for a few years, I sold it to my friend and a fellow bassist from my church, who needed a quiet home practice amp. That was in 2018. Then in January of 2024, one of the church campuses I regularly play at had an unfortunate incident of a break-in, where the Ampeg SVT-3PRO was stolen, leaving the SVT-610hlf cab as an orphan. When I found out the church had no intention of spending the money to replace the amp head, I offered to purchase the cab from them and they agreed. Now I needed an amp for myself so I could make use of the 610 cab. That's when I went back to my friend and asked him if he was still using the MB200, and he told me no as he had invested in a new combo amp. I asked him if I could buy it back from him and he said sure.
A couple of months later, I decided I needed something with a little more power to get the best out of the 610 and invested in a Traynor SB500H. I eventually decided I really didn't need the MB200 anymore, so traded it in for the Ampeg Venture V3 in March of this year. I did end up parting with that amp before too long. Meanwhile, I found myself missing the MB200. So, I went back to the dealer, where I traded it in 5 mths ago, and asked them if I could buy it back for the same price they gave me for the trade-in. They said sure.
So, here I am, happily re-united with my little GK, this time on top of my new Neo212-IV...
So, now I own GK Legacy 800, GK MB200 and Traynor SB500H for amp heads, and GK Neo212-IV and Ampeg SVT-610hlf, plus GK Neo112-IV, which I'll be picking up this weekend.
I really like my Neo212-IV 4ohm. I use it with a 800 Fusion S head and, more often, I use it with my Ashdown Geezer 600. Which is super loud.
I'm really curious about the Neo112-IV, so I could run my Ashdown at 8ohm/300w and have a little more ability to play it at lower volume while still sounding huge!
I pulled the trigger on the 1200 fusion now maybe one more 212 cabinet and the Wife really hate me.
Unless you are playing outdoors with no PA support, why would you need two 2x12's?
Well why not
I used to have a Aguilar db 4-12 and it was marvelous the GK I have is a 8ohm cab

Hi John, I agree that many rooms a single 212 is fine. However larger stages, more so the deeper stages allow you to hear yourself better, especially when stacked.
I use the (2) 212s on occasion and it helps. When I played for guitarist Gary Hoey, he specifically asked for me to use that combination on stage so He could "feel it more" at the front of the stage.
Once you try a stacking (2) 212s you might get addicted. It sounds fantastic, I do this with a Legacy 800.
I'm sure that I would also "prefer" to have more cones moving more air.Well why not
In my physical condition, I'd definitely need some roadies, but yeah, I remember the good old days when I had 1600W behind my back.
More drivers is often more effective than more watts, but both are also fun.

A fans view of my side of the stage before I took it.
Yeah I picked up an 800RB in excellent condition for $250 from GC last month. I have zero "need" for it but I couldn't resist that deal!

That is backup, for my regional stuff I usually travel with 2 heads and 2 cabinets. That was already in the rack so…
Dang, I just picked one up with rack ears for $300 and thought I got a great deal. Perfectly clean on the face but missing two knob caps. Same as you didn't need it but couldnt pass on the price. Now I got the 400rb (gen1 from 86 and still thumping) and the 800rb.
That's still a great deal for an iconic gigging amp.
I did something similar many years ago and bought an 800RB when I didn't really need it. I still have it and it still totally rocks.
I can't remember how much I paid for it, but I'm sure it was more than 250 or 300!
Funny thing is that it hasn't unseated the 400RB as my favorite. There's something about the 400RB that I really like.
The 800RB running 3 cabs is pretty cool though.
Two years ago, a local guy on Craigslist listed an 800RB as "for parts" for $30.
I offered him more, but he just wanted it to go to a good home.
I got it back up and running by cleaning the effects loop - then back to 100% by replacing the volume pot.
All told, $10 in parts and a couple hours of my time.
Most of the knob caps were gone, so I replaced them with Davies 1510s.
The 800RB is a great amp, but I preferred my 700RB-II and Legacy 800, so I sold the 800RB to a new owner.
I was asking $100 less than any other 800RB he had seen, we were able to meet and avoid shipping, and I still made a fair profit.
