you're correct. i went back and re-read your post. wish i could blame it on some substances... but sadly it's just poor reading skills due to being tired. when i get time i'll do another reply and hopefully this time i'll get it right :smug:
Hey, no problem, and I know how you feel... I've read the thread and I can easily see how you might feel like you're being jumped on a bit, which is why I was careful about it.

Thing is, for the record, even though I haven't really said it, we agree on one thing... I do feel as you do that a combo version of this product would be cool. The only thing we differ on, is how much of a problem we have with their not having one and (as I recall) no currently known plans to have one.

Big difference IMO. I've done both and loves me some combo action.
... but then which format? If they go big on the speaker, which they could with this power level, then it sorta' flies in the face of the ultra portable design of the head. If they go small, then the portability is preserved, but then you "waste" 1/2 the heads power on a small cab.

I really feel this form factor kinda' lends itself to a modular approach. I believe that's why GB did the Shuttle the way they did, which I think is a cool idea. It addresses the concern which seems to boil mainly down to the desire to simply have the head attached somehow, and not lock anyone to a config that might not always serve their needs best.

So IMHO, to "solve this problem" is really more about coming out with some "MB2 cabinets" with some sort of mounting technology than it is making fixed combos from this head.

Agreed, I still call that a combo....ala Shuttle. A 300 watt 112 combo that weighs 30 lbs. or under is really useful in my book. Set it on another 8 ohm cab for full power, and a stack that weighs under 60 lbs. and you've got something there!

Since GK invented the small, lightweight pro-quality bass combo (200MB and MB150) it would be great to see them update the concept for the new millenium.
Maybe... the current MB series is particularly popular with the DB players, I'm not so sure the MB2 would be, since it's voiced pretty different. In other words, I'm not sure this could be an update... at least in the sense of "replacing" that product line.

We loaned one to Dave Hollands last week. He won't give it back. Loves it!

I would consider this to be GREAT news!!!

Hmmm, I wonder if the "classic" MB series might be depreciated then. Interesting.

I don't have my hands on an MB2 500 just yet, but I will relatively soon. I'm really anticipating putting it through its paces. :)

My question remains...where can I get this amp? Who has it in stock?

Someone posted that RMC had a shipment coming in and not all of them were spoken for. Contact them, ask them if you can get one from their next shipment. If you wait too long, those will all be sold and you'll have to wait for the next shipment.
