Nope. But if you want to bypass the preamp on any series loop, you can just plug into the Return jack and don't plug anything into the Send jack.

Oh, you were planning to run both your bass and a drum machine through the amp simultaneously?

Yeah, you wouldn't be able to, unfortunately. But you could just use a blend loop pedal before the pre, with your drum machine in it. ;)

I'm not sure how well it would work, but it would work.

Yeah, I was just about to suggest this might work, but I've not tried this on enough amps to know if this typically works or not. It depends on if the Send or Return jack has the circuit interruption built in.

Have you done this on a lot of heads? Regardless, if all the gains and such work out ok, it could work, but I still like the idea of patching it in along with the instrument on the front end better.

I've used a variety of different major-brand heads (Ampeg, GK, a few others), and IIRC, they all defeat the preamp if you plug directly into the Return Jack. At least with GK, I haven't seen an example of it being any different on any of their newer heads.

Wait, are you talking about the drum machine thing, or something else?

For a drum machine, I'd suggest mixing it with your bass signal and sending the mix to the preamp (a blend pedal or small active mixer would work for this). If you have a drum machine sitting in the effects loop, the results due to impedance, gain, etc. are beyond me. I've never tried such an arrangement in the loop.

It would technically work either way, but running it in front would minimize any possible problems, especially with gain loss.

Exactly.

I'm a big fan of doing things the easy way. Where I simply don't have to worry about gain issues, impedance issues, this, or that. If I have to sounds to mix, I prefer to simply mix them before they get to the amp rather than try to figure out how to use the amp as also a mixer. Maybe it often works, but it wouldn't be my first choice as a solution to try.

IMHO, anyway. :)

I did, they didn't bother replying to me.

Mine is the A00 series, and I can't express how impressed I am with this. LOUD, clean, and sounds great. I also have a recently new peavey vb2 tube amp, and I am more impressed and having more fun with this one....even though they are a lot different animals. The GK is louder, and for my sound (mostly clean), the GK sounds better. Not even to mention the GK fits in my backpack, and 3.75 pounds > 50+ pounds any day.

Odd they didn't respond? I haven't had the pleasure of playing that little jewel yet. I have to travel to a real city to try anything out. Went from a HEAVY V4-B to the 800rb, even older now so 3.75lbs is sounding mighty good!:)

Oh joy, oh joy, oh joy! I didn't get to rehearse with it yesterday since we had another program going, so I debuted it today. MTD Artist (active model) through Livewire cable into the GK MB2 500 driving B52 1X15 and Yamaha 1X15 PA cabinets. Turned down my bass's treble slightly to get rid of some high frequency buzz from the B52, kept the Mid at the center detent and the bass knob halfway between the detent and full up. The MB2 was set with Gain at 10:00, Master at 10:30, Contour 02:00, Treble 09:30, Hi-Mid 09:00, Low-Mid 09:30, and Bass 09:30. I had to back the MTD's volume knob back some and still use a lighter touch, and both of the keyboardists wanted me to play more, especially on a couple of songs that I sat out on; they liked what they were hearing. It's not that they didn't like what I was using before, but they noticed something was different, the congregation noticed and the choir DEFINITELY noticed. It was all for good. This is my go-to amp now; the Yamaha BBT500H just got benched.

Why is the clip light on? I'm still amazed how good this amp is. I was looking into a LM2 before I did some research, this one came out on top......so with the reviews, and GK personalized customer service, this one is a no brainer.

It's even better than I had expected. I'm kind of scared to get the upgrade!!!!!!
