So musiciansfriend sent out an email saying that they apologize for the delay on back orders and that the reason was because the nickle housing was on back order...

I also got an email from rmcaudio saying that the back order was because gk is re-doing the EQ and they would be shipping out asap.


....considering the posts prior in this thread ..i think i'll go with rmc

I got my A02 back from GK today, man that was fast, a few days and it was here. No low-level noise issues at all, it's loud and clear.

I have the Shuttle 6.0 too, bought it as a backup while the GK was gone, and I gigged with it once. Not bad, but I gotta say, the GK just seems so much better put together. The GenzBenz just has that cheap feel to it. Square box, with some knobs, while the GK has the same basic features give or take, in a smaller more professional looking package. I might off the Shuttle and just buy another GK for a backup.

I don't notice any EQ differences, sounds about the same to me.

First gig with the A03 (it's really an A02 in disguise) tonight, and all was well. Everyone remarked how well the bass was sounding. One problem however, towards the end of the set, the amp cut out for about 10 secs, then came back on. The about a minute later it did the same thing, but I turned in time to see the blue power ring turn red and come back on blue again after a few seconds, when my sound came back. I was running pretty loud - about 3 o'clock on both master volume and input gain, with the pad in. Was this a thermal cutout coming in?? The little fan was running and the amp was slightly warm to the touch...

Did you check the power cord?
Put a different one in next time to see.....

It seems to me like running both the pre and master at 3 o'clock is pushing things a little to hard for my liking.

Has anyone purchased an MB2 head in Canada? I'm curious because I called Long & McQuade in Toronto and the price was ... frightening. Exchange rate craziness over the past few months accounts for some of this, of course. Does anyone know of a Canadian dealer that has reasonable pricing?

Unfortunately, L&M has a lock on things in Canada it seems. Steve's Music might get them and their prices are usually a bit lower, but not much.

You say "frightening"-how frightening is it?

Why you engage the pad and run the input level at 3 o'clock? It seems the input level is being so overdriven, the amp is not happy. Your 400w comparison isn't really accurate. Take out the pad, turn down the pre level and it should be fine. To me it seems as though the protection circuit worked as designed.
