Gallien-Krueger MB2: Any more info?

I've called MF, and it sounds like they are not even going to be carrying this item. This, despite the fact that it is in the April Catalog and has an item number 481858. Could this be because there is some problems with it? Could GK be being sued by somebody? I'm a huge GK fan, and have had 5 GK's through the years and am dying to get my hands on this one. But, something seems to be a miss. Also, I cannot find it on the GK website.

well, i could live if it just opperated in full range and not bi-amp, but it just having speak-on only outputs and not 1/4" outs really limits your cabinet choice if you are just carrying this head to a backline show where you don't always know what you are going to get.

i would assume a product like this would appeal to those who need a small/lightweight head for traveling/fly dates, so therefore, the ability to mate with any cabinet type and at different voltages(and not just US) would really help.

If it is a typical Class-D bass head, then 1/4" output is not really an option because these amps typically operate in bridge mode. I doubt such an amp with a 1/4" output jack would pass regulatory approval.

I really wonder, after so many reports of bad info from MusiciansFriend, why anyone could listen or trust them anymore. A few years back, I ordered a bass from them (which they said was in stock). They pushed that date back two weeks...then another two weeks...then another two weeks -- this happened six times. If it's information one wants concerning new products/availability/etc., MusiciansFriend would be the last place I'd suggest to look.

Now, concerning the MB2 500, as far as GK's lead technician has mentioned, that amp is still set to be released. Also, in response to the recent excitement about MF shipping this amp as well as the Fusion 550, GK's lead technician said the following:

tech said:
I don't know how they can be since we haven't even received the parts yet to start putting them together.

Anybody knows if this unit has a dual voltage power suply?
It'd be a nice feature.

I was told that it's not as easy as flipping a switch but you'd have to open up the box and do something (that didn't include soldering) but GK couldn't "advise" me to do it myself due to warranty issues. But they did allude to it being a rather simple thing to do and really didn't require taking it to a tech.

I do hope these come out this year. They are very interesting.

Well I went ahead and ordered one for $499 from Music123 (they have $100 off right now) and it says it will ship 7/3/2008. I know these dates have been continually shifting, so we'll wait and see what happens, although I do think we are close now :)
