Geddy Lee Jazz New Price.... WHAT?!

A Fender is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. It's fine if you don't like them, but that doesn't give you the right to belittle other people's taste. I like my $1100 Fender just fine, and it's worth every cent that I paid for it, thank you very much. :rollno:

Anything is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
No manufacturer has an obligation to price their products to please anyone. If you can't afford it, or don't feel it's a good value for the price, DON'T BUY IT!
If enough people DON'T BUY IT, they will be forced to drop price or go under.
Complaining on a forum won't help, these things police themselves.

Dollar is only 2% less vs. yen than April last year (a rather roller-coaster year, I might add), so I don't see the price hike from that standpoint unless it was to recoup losses from last year when the yen rose in value from Oct '08 - Feb '09. Temporary bubble, which is gradually losing air now. Fender may take it in the shorts if prices on Japan-made products stay high all year when exchange rates stabilize.

Kind of crazy price though. I had a Geddy Lee. It may have been a bad one but I'll tell you it wasn't half the bass that my Musicman is. When it was half the price, that was ok. But now?? They're practically the same price and that's crazy.

I'd say I spent over $1000 on my Geddy. I bought it used and upgraded everything. But I did that because at $700 or whatever it was a good "base" model to work with. And, hey - you still can if you buy used.
