I love this so much. The song and the bass tone/playing/musicianship. The tone is Geddy-ish in spirit, but not so much that it's a total ripoff. You've taken the Geddy thing and run with it and made it your own. Fantastic stuff.
Thank you!

More Tech 21 NYC "YYZ" Pedal growly Goodness from our new album. The YYZ responds like a pissed off beaver with a flaming chainsaw...and stuff.
Enjoyed that very much @Gefilter1001, without looking you up I assumed you were in a Rush tribute band. Off to check out the rest of your stuff now!

So good. Grindy, sexy goodness. Great song too.
I've found that Stingrays don't play well with a LOT of pedals. YMMV as always...For me, with my Stingray, I just sounded like Geddy no matter where I put the dials and found it kinda hard to get away from that, or it was too fuzzy for me. Hence my one trick pony comment. Don’t get me wrong, a great tone but had a pretty small spectrum of use for me.
For those interested in hearing the YYZ in a very heavy setting - my death metal band has finally released our first track that features a YYZ on bass distortion
Thanks! That was all YYZHoly hell, unreal playing and outstanding production. And the music is good. Take my money.
What do you use other than the YYZ for dirt? I love my DP-3x. Full, heavy, and cutting

I got mine late in the afternoon today. Only messed with it for a little as my hands are pretty sore from work, but I find it goes very well with my Alpha-Omega while offering something completely different. A smoother middier OD with lots of clank available via mix, tight switch and a great 2K midrange eq point. The Alpha Omega has mids too, but is more modern and has a lot more grunt in the low mids.
My main bass is a Stambaugh that is an imprived version of my billy sheehan basses but, low end clarity of my d-bird with a pic is addictive. I'll be trying either a yyz or x7 ultra sometime soon. Thanks! That was all YYZ

Dingwall D-Bird into there, and all that out into a Jule Monique, into the board.
I'm playing with the X7 right now as an alternate to the YYZ for when I want something a little different.

So, I decided to pull out my old Oxford and combine it with the new YYZ. The YYZ provided all the crunch and the Oxford, lowmid saturation and all the grunt.

... Let me tell you, a lot of the pedals that I've used that retain the low end just get lost in a full band setting, specially when you have more instruments than just a guitar and drums.
