Geddy Lee Sansamp Pedal!

Hey, I've changed my mind about something. The "warm tube/studio" setting is pretty cool. Dial it in, Make sure you've got unity gain in the "bump" frequencies, then A/B "I Want You Back" with the pedal on and off. I just did this with my active Fender Jazz running everything flat on the bass and my Carvin amp. Nice.

I couldn't wait until they bring out the Deluxe version, as it could be something that never happens though looking at the sales it looks like it will occur in the near future. I too like the Warm Tube/Studio setting and it sounds great on a P Bass with TI Flatwounds. You don't need a Jazz or Rickenbacker bass fitted with Roundwounds to get some great tones out of this pedal. I find the Mix knob to be a great function on this unit along with the Tight switch, and so far I cannot fault this pedal.......RIP Neil Peart:speechless:

It was default at "On" when powering up initially, now it is random when powering up. Mostly auto "on". Sometimes "off". So, is this defective?

It's not something anyone should want to return the item for, but it clearly is an engineering/manufacturing oversight. I would prefer that mine return to the last known state when powered on. Others might prefer that it default to off, regardless of last state. One would assume that the makers would choose one or the other. One would not assume that they would deliberately leave it random, some pedals this way, some that.

I am gonna find out for you this week. On a side note, if anyone is gonna be at NAMM be sure to stop by the Tech 21 NYC booth #5635 and say hello!

I see dual XLR outputs - nice!

I was really hoping for a programmable YYZ this year - the DI addition and mid-shift is excellent, but I have no use for stereo output, but quite a lot of use for getting multiple tones out of this sweet little box!

Granted, probably not many bass players are likely hauling around a stage rig capable of utilizing the dual outs of this pedal effectively, back in the day I did but these days I like to travel light and with a single cab on stage. But I certainly could put the stereo output to good use in a recording situation or going direct FOH. :bassist:

Yeah. I’m plenty happy with my little YYZ pedal so I can have a little Geddy when I want it, but not all Geddy all the time.
