As much as I admire Gene, I'm going to have to go with the Ace album as being the best of the "solo" records.

I dig the main riff and bass work on this song.

Cool song! Great recording, not surprising with Ezrin at the console. I really like the verses, that grunting bass sounds with delay is awesome, as are the double-tracked vocals. All sounds pretty bad ass, actually. Is Mr Blackwell a character in The Elder? I suppose it doesn't matter any more than "Mr. Clean" or "Mr. Jones." In any case, liked both your pics! And I'mma spin Dressed To Kill again, been a hot minute.

Every time I post that here someone picks out that clam, I don't think I could even play doing that never mind hitting all the correct notes. There are three things (probably more) that TB is famous for, bashing Gene Simmons, JH of Rickenbacker and Gibsons.

How about a Super Duty 421 '63 Catalina? I saw a real one at a car show once, aluminum hood, fenders, swiss cheese frame, etc. It sounded unbelievable. I'd take that over a GTO.
I heard Gene liked them.

Inspired by a recent chart-topping Talk Bass thread soliciting opinion on the new Paul Stanley solo project single by Soul Station, a cover of Ohh Child (which was too Mike Curb Congregation for my own taste), I thought, why not put up a solo track from Gene for consideration? Granted, it is an oldie... But I am definitely not trolling, as I ADORE this song, I think it is of '65 Beatles caliber, and I love the Spanish Harlem-inspired strings, and the gooey, Teenage Fan Club-style Ohhs and Ahhhs.

Any other Kiss or Gene content or commentary welcome, too!

I literally cannot connect the audio with the video. My consciousness had to subdivide into received audio + imaginedhappytrippy60ssurfeyimagery and received video + pretendmarshalleystacksey70srocksounds. This was demanding to say the least and now I have to lie down for a bit.

I cannot look at Gene's tongue without thinking of H.R. Giger.

John Wetton, talent, looks, voice, he really should have been bigger.
I love UK, I'm a little more partial to "Danger Money" than their first LP. "Danger Money" is an example of an original vinyl pressing that
has that extra oomph, the grit of the synths on that album stand among my favorite-ever tones, and sound especially tasty on vinyl, at least on the pressings I knew.

Further still off-track, there is a new ELP band-approved book about to drop, in three formats including super-size....

I totally concur, it is entirely the wrong packaging.

But this song from a bunch of flannel-wearing Oregonians, if it dropped in the late 90s, would have launched the career of
yet another "Big Star-inspired group."

I don't know about that but he really played hard. Kind Crimson is my favorite stuff.
