For those of us watching TV live in the 70s, the award show where Gene licked Meatloaf's award trophies was a national shocker on par
with Kanye stage-bombing Taylor.

In this post-covid age, if Gene were to try this, he'd be cancelled for sure... Probably charged with assault, too.

Haha! I like the look on Meatloaf's face.

Did you know Bloomfield used to do that during the 60's with the Butterfield Blues band?

Bloomfield Breathes Fire... literally!

Did not know! And I am surprised that Gene didn't insist on dropping this fire breathing business early on. Seems rather perilous gargling flammables, even before you bring a giant torch into the equation.

Did Bloomfield do this in clubs?! Or strictly concert halls?

I used to drink in Ensenada in the the 80s and for a while there, the car window washers all had a second trade in fire-breathing at the stop lights.
You'd stagger out of the bar and see three fireballs billowing in the street simultaneously.

I'm not sure even how often he did but I know he did do it, i was mentioned in the book I read about him, he loved carnival geeks and stuff like that., i posted a picture of him too, he didn't have a big fireball like Gene though. I think that's insane myself. We have the car window washers here too but haven't seen any fire breathers yet, some good jugglers and acrobats though, they're very inventive here..

Oh yeah he did it while they were playing, I realized I didn't answer your question, not sure how often though.
