Gene Simmons has trademarked Tablature ?!??!

This is a good joke, but it's totally in his character. Not only is he a bad musician, he's a bad person.
Let's see here,
pumping out multy-platinum albums for four decades. Selling out arenas on a global scale during the same time frame. First band to have a million dollar stage show. Sets the new standard for live entertainment. Merchandising genius. Made millions and millions of dollars touring the world playing music. Inducted into Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. Yup he's a total looser.

Long live the king!

What did make this believable at first was that there was and still is suppression of tabs. Around 10 years ago tabs sites were shut down by ASCAP and BMI iirc. And there are still artists such as Prince (estate) and Audioslave that refuse to allow their tabs published on UG.

IIRC Metallica was at the forefront of that disaster.

Sad thing is with the web being what it is, the joke runs a good chance of getting quoted and believed in some quarters and go viral.

And when somebody tries to point out it’s a joke you’ll get people screaming “fake news” about it really being one.

Then the conspiracy buffs will show up to “prove” that although it was presented as a joke - it’s really a “secret code” by someone who is exposing something much darker and sinister.

Good point. Seems like we humans have lost the ability to make fun of ourselves. But let me grab my tin foil hat just to be safe. ;)

Way to keep this thread in the intended spirit :rollno:

Sorry fellas, didn't mean to offend you, that's just my opinion. I don't think he's very good in either respect. I'll admit he is a good businessman. To each their own.

Too true. All too true.

However…there’s tin foil hats :cautious:
- and then there’s Tin Foil Hats! :woot:

If you’re gonna do it - do it up grande I say. I got a thing for the whacks with a great sense of humor and self:

You didn't offend me. I just thought this was a light hearted, funny thread. Not one of the MANY Gene bashing ones.

Most of what you’ve got up above is more about the money than the music.

I myself see a shrewd (and cynical) businessman rather than someone destined to be remembered for any truly lasting greatness.

But success takes many forms. And I doubt anybody could seriously argue Gene Simmons and Kiss haven’t been successful based on the standards many would measure success by. Even his most diehard critics would grant him that much.

“It’s only Rock & Roll” - “and nothing to get hung about.”

I wish him well.

LMAO :roflmao: Now that is one helluva tin foil hat. Want it!

The message I was trying to get across was that this is a very believable possibility and I peppered in some personal opinion. Didn't mean to come off as crazily harsh!:)
Well yes of course. That's what makes the OP so funny. It is in fact believable. It's all good bro. And in one more hour (e.s.t.) it will be "Cold Gin Time Again" ;)
