Gene Simmons has trademarked Tablature ?!??!

I take it you believe Ms. White has a proclivity for lawyers as I do?

For anyone that missed my reference, and I admit it was lacking, Ms White has lawyers that have gone after unauthorized use of her name. There are articles on the Internet about this. I did some contracting work for a marketing company that was sued by her lawyers. My contract work had nothing to do with she felt was an infringement.

The founder said he settled because their initial offer was lower than his legal fees. He told me he believes they do this on weak cases, and routinely. He felt it was abusive using the legal system.

In this case, the company did not use her name, but made a reference to a product being as easy as turning over a sign on a game show, or something to that effect, iirc.

This happened several decades ago, but I still remembered it when a fellow TB posted about joining a tribute band. Mechanical license fees on song copyrights take care of playing the songs, but what about the image?

I bought the "Play like Gene Simmons" VCR lesson tape. I never got past the first lesson where you try to push a bowling ball up an incline with your tongue.

Doesnt matter. I got my "Play Bass like John Mayer" book and it rocks.
So do you still have that tape? Send it to me and I'll store it in my Kiss lunch box. :D
