I saw this photo the other day.....note the angled pickup, I don't remember that at all?? Any Ideas?

This I think was the second incarnation of the bass. I think it was some sort of mutron pickup?

Counting, he had like 4 different pickups over the life of this bass

I need to do some light wet sanding to shed some overspray, but it looks pretty good. After that, clear coat!

Just an update.

I had to repaint this bass 3x. Getting the white binding sharp, was a real challenge.

I rethought my process, bought better tape, and now I score the tape seam before pulling the masking off.

Finally staring clear coat.

Man, if i ever wanted one, i'd gladly pay the whole thing just to have the Lobue copy, no emg for me please would be great to have one of the most iconic KISS instruments in my arsenal

My first attempt had me using a passive mudbucker. In a live situation, it just wasn't suitable.

I'd like the passive cause i'm not big on using batteries to power my sound. Plug in & play + authenticity to the original model

Well, she is ready for her new home.

I tested her out in practice, and the pickup is hotter than I expected.

She played well, held tune, and sounded prett consistent across all strings.

Her new owner is excited to receive it, and I'm jazzed to see him, all dressed in his Destroyer suit, wielding this bass.

So LoBue 2.0 is in the books.

I have one more to build, than I think I'm closing this chapter in my life.
