Gene Simmons New Cort Axe Bass???

I was surfing around last night when I ran across a Gene Simmons Axe bass for sale on Ebay. When I went to the description it said that when you purchased it you could meet Gene at one of their US Shows and he would personally sign the bass for you for a mere $5000. I first almost fell over at the price then I took a closer look at the bass pictured and on the headstock it has the Cort logo and the Gene Simmons Axe logo. Talk about highway robbery. If I were going to pay $5000 for a bass and to meet Gene Simmons the bass had better be something special. NOT a Cort. Talk a pure greed!!!! Gotta love Gene...

I heard Gene talking about these basses on WRXP 101.9FM this morning. He made up some crap about how it's only the highest quality available and he got fed up with the lousy quality manufactured instruments he's used over the years (He specifically mentioned the Grabber), so decided the only way to satisfy his extremely high standards of excellence was to manufacture his own basses because, you know, you need a $5000 bass to properly thump open string 1/4 notes.

His arrogance and narcissism never cease to amaze me. :rollno:

Wow.

I love how he claims to have selected this wood, but doesn't even know what it's called. I think it's apparent that he's going after poseurs and not actual musicians.

Don't forget that Paul Stanley is just as much a sell out, just not as open about it. Paul switched his signature guitar to Silvertone a few years back, I mean SILVERTONE! C'mon! He's gone Ibanez-Washburn-Silvertone-Washburn again in the past 12 years. And on top of that at the Paul art show meet and greet, you have to buy one of his $1500 (minimum, non original) paintings in order to meet him, otherwise, you can just look at the fancy pictures he makes.

You know, I understand $5000 is absolutely outrageous, and I know I always stick up for Gene, but for good reason: you people just LOVE to kick the guy into the dirt, don't you?? ANY opportunity you get, you pounce.:spit:

Obviously, you didn't see the part where he was discussing the wood used in Stradivarius Violins, and the resonance they had. So because he didn't state the SPECIFIC SPECIES OF WOOD he's using, he's automatically musically illiterate, and has NO idea what he's talking about??:mad:

The neck is hard maple, the body is mahogany, obviously from overseas, and the fingerboard is Indian Rosewood.

Oh and by the way, if you think all Gene does is play open 1/4 notes then you definitely HAVE NOT listened to the majority of KISS's music, because the man definitely does not pound out 1/4th notes.:rolleyes:


So remind me again, when is YOUR new record coming out and going to Number 1??:mad:
