Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 Appreciation Thread

Shuttle has aux in on the rear panel.... Just saying, ya "can" plug a ipod/lap top etc in if u desire

Correct, the aux input enters the mix bus at nominal line level.

Use the volume control along with the master volume on your playback device to set the playback volume, then use the gain & volume controls on the amp to balance your bass volume to the playback volume.

I have a 6.0 12t with a 2nd 12T. I have played everything from a dbl bottom Kustom 250, to a Carvin R 1000 into a peavey 1810, and this little monstor has the classic sound I love with very little adjusting most time it is set flat. I can get my sound using any of my 3 basses. I have a G&L L2500 fretted with EB flats, a G&L L 2500 frettless with LaBella tape flats and a Michael Kelly Club Custom 5 with La Bella tapes and they all sound sweet through this rig. Being easy to haul is just icing on the cake!

I play my synths thru the aux input (as recommended by GB customer support) for synth bass lines and it works great for that. Eliminates the need for a separate amp.
I'm thinking of selling my 12t cab and getting the neox212.
At a gig last Sat, the shuttle combo sounded great but some bandmates wanted the stage shaking rumble so I ended up using an Eden 410 which was lying backstage and it sounded huge! The shuttle cab was loud enough though and I was using the di. Sound man said it sounded great.

Cool! It has been long enough since I read the manual that I had forgotten that option. Thanks!

As much as I loved my Carvin B1500 head I just could no longer deal with the size and weigh and have been curious about whether a micro amp could deliver the same tone. So lnog story short I traded it for a Genz Benz 6.0 and I'm one happy camper. I played it at home thru my GK410 NEO and they really seem like each other, great tone, lots of punch in the low end and very tight and modern sounding. I packed it in my gig bag (YEAH) and took it to rehearsal and plugged it into my Ampeg 410HLF and the band was blown away by the size, tone and power. Now I just need to order the foot switch.

How many of you are running a 5-string through the shuttle 6.0? I have the 12-T combo and I'm finding a real need for a fiver lately. Just wondering if the combo will handle it well or if I might need a bigger cab.

I run my Shuttle 6.0 through a Traynor TC112, and have had no issues with it, at least at practices. Mind you I'm not one to hammer out low B after low B, but I'm still happy overall with the set up.

Hi there - I've been a very happy owner of a Shuttle 6.0, played through an Epifani UL410, for the last three years. It's an absolutely fantastic amp that has seen me through an average of 4 gigs a week, every week, in that time, so I really can't say enough good things about it. However, I wondered if agedhorse or someone might be able to help me with a tiny issue: often when I turn the amp on, the cooling fan makes a wheezing sound, as if it's getting up to speed then stalling, over and over. After a minute or two, it settles down at the correct speed and is then fine for the rest of the gig. It never causes any performance issues, so I don't worry about it, but it would be nice to get it sorted out. I've tried taking the fan out and cleaning it every so often, to get the accumulated dust out of there - I thought maybe that was jamming it a little - but that hasn't made any difference. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I've only had my Shuttle 6.0 for a number of months and absolutely love it! I paired it with first one, then two GK Neo 112s and it is wonderful. Tone is great and weight is practically nothing. Compliments wherever I go. This photo was from a month ago, with the equipment sitting happily on the corner of the stage on a Gramma Auralex pad.

It may just be that you are right at the threshold of the fan starting. There is a ramp-up circuit that sets the minimum speed after about a minute. I think this is what you are experiencing. Each amp will be a little different as the fans are not quite identical from fan to fan.

Thanks, agedhorse. Always impressed with GB's customer service on here and other forums! So, nothing to worry about. As I said, I can't get enough of that GB goodness, so much so that I've ordered another - looking forward to the imminent arrival of my new 9.2!

I used a GB Shuttle 6.0 on the weekend for 3 gigs (Fr/Sat/Sun). Very impressed with it using my P bass/Roto rounds & Berg CN212. It's been my backup amp for ages after @bigswifty1 gifted it to me two years ago (thanks Mike ). Haven't had to use it on a gig until just this weekend.

When touring like we did, I leave my Monique at home & take my Thunderfunk 550A as my primary amp. The TF stopped working on the first of the three nights during the second set (fan issue, overheated). Out came the Genz & I was really happy with its sound. Here's my settings.
