Hey,
I just ordered a Bergantino AE410 to go with my 9.0!!! I'm excited, I hope it kicks ass! Plenty of volume I hope!
Thanks for all the great info!

Just picked up a Shuttle 9. Wow! The EQ on this thing is money. Finally, an amp I like with both my SR5 and my J bass.
Not to mention the balls this thing has. Glad I pulled the trigger.![]()
Thanks Fretno! I just received my red pointer knobs from Spiratronics and they're cool

I've now owned a shuttle 9.0 for 10 days. At the same time, I purchased this LDS 12/6 nEarful from jxbass: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f127/fs-lds-12-6-3012lf-faital-mid-754392/ I've been searching for a one cab solution to handle practice, small/medium gigs that won't break the back. Preferably an 8ohm 112 that I could pair with a 112 no tweeter cab I've already got. I think I've found it.
Glad to hear that it's working out. That LDS 12/6 is a beautiful cab and the S9 is a great amp. You should hear that 12/6 with a Streamliner! They seem to be made for each other.
Get thee behind me!
I do not need another amp.

Now, now. You can't think that way. If there were no more gas I'd still have the 12/6 and you wouldn't![]()
I love my Shuttle 9.0 no doubt but I also like my Streamliner 900. They are just two different animals. Your welcome to try mine out any time. Not trying to fuel GAS here.
That thunderchild must really be something for you to part with this cab.
Just posting what was to me a rather unexpected result with this amp.
We did a St Patty's Day gig on an outdoor stage, and I took the 9 and a Schroeder 1212BMF. I had previously not been using this combination and presumed everything would sound fine set mostly flat. However, the stage sound was way thin in the lower mids, which were actually slightly boosted on the amp; and that threw me.
Anyhow, I was wrestling with this over the past few weeks, and blaming the sound on the cab.
Turns out I may not have understood the parametric controls.
Sunday night while messing with it, I set the parametric mid at about 12 o'clock, which is roughly 1kHz I'm guessing), and set the gain down to about 9 o'clock to cut those frequencies. Lo and behold all kinds of lower mids suddenly appeared in the cab. In fact to the point that I would not accuse the cab of being low end shy at all.
OK, it shouldn't have taken me so long to dial that in; but, in my defense, I had no idea that cutting the 1 kHz range would actually boost the lower mids.
So, long story short, this is actually a pretty flexible amp, but learning the tone manipulation is not necessarily straightforward and takes a bit of work.
Play on.

Well, there are 11 generic marks; and for this control, they go from 0.15 kHz to 2.0 kHz. Noon is halfway, which I was just approximating at 1 kHz; but, who really knows? I mean is the taper completely linear etc etc. Not really the point of the post.I think at noon, the mid frequency is closer to 750 or 800. I believe it starts at 150hz and each line is in increments of 100hz.
Think we agree. With the proper EQ, that "mid-forward" character/reputation thing is somewhat moot; since I'm left with a nice balanced output, even weighted to the lower mids as I like it, with plenty of power. Oh and the whole rig weighs in at just over 40 pounds. Yay.I'm sure that adjustment you made was the right one for the Schro cab which is quite mid forward even with the newer design.
I'm very impressed with the power of the EQ on the 9.0. A few small adjustments can really make a difference. It can also still be musical at what some might consider extreme settings.
