Genz Benz Shuttle Max 12.0

TRY THE 6.0 with dual NEOx112's...gets real big sounding.

I can only say that I'm really happy with my Shuttle 6.0 and NeoX 212T. This thread isn't GASsing me at all. The only compelling feature _FOR ME_ on the 12.0 is that the filters have knobs instead of being on/off like on my 6.0. I might actually use the filters on the 12.0, I don't really on the 6.0.

The 212T is great.

Whats exciting about the 12.0 to me is that I would be able to use the 212t with a 112t on top and loose the extra weight of my power amp and combo with out giving up power. Less weight + same power = a good thing to me. (I'm getting old...lol)

See, that's my thought as well.
But the issue I guess is a 4 ohm Neox212t and the 8 ohm Neox112t: You would get different output to each correct? (the 212 would be louder than the 112)
Am I off base with this???

I really don't think it should be much a problem. With the 112 on top it might sound a bit dominant up close by your ear, but out front it should blend well. jmo mind you

For me the true excitement is the reworked EQ section. Adding the extra semiparametric eq for me is the BOMB. So you can cut and boost to fine tune it all.

i think the output would be relatively similar as each driver would be seeing an 8 ohm load (all 8 ohm drivers, two just happened to be wired together) so to speak.. i may be wrong so defer to the experts

Your reasoning is correct.
Each driver would see ~ equal power.

Even though each amp is seeing a different load???
Well, that clears up a lot of the crap that floats around here on that subject.
I've read all kinds of different points of view on running a 4 ohm with an 8 ohm from different sides of a stereo amp.

To get a definitive answer that each enclosure would "see" the same thing and each speaker would see equal power......heck, stop making me plan on spending more money!!!!:D

In the particular case that was mentioned earlier each driver would see relatively the same watts as they are all 8ohm drivers. If you were to have one 4 ohm cab with two drivers (each 8 ohm) and one 8 ohm cab with two drivers (each 16 ohm) you would have issues with the different drivers seeing different loads and as such would probably want to use the stereo method.

The estimated january release, will this be global? I was about to get a 6.0 but the extra mids focus is PERFECT for me.

Global? Yes. But, availability in each "market" is determined by the distributor in that market being able to get their ducks in a row. These distributors will see the new product and will be able to purchase it the same time any dealer in the U.S. does.
