Genz Benz ShuttleMAX 9.0 Now A Reality

So Genz Engineers, do we have to wait till NAMM, to try it ourselves or can you give us a clue to the voicing?

I love the idea of having a MAX 9.0 with two blendable channels, one the classic 9.0 voice and an additional beautifully voiced channel.

Lots of possibilities with FX blending!

Edit: Another question. On the MAX series, can the FX loops per channel be set pre or post eq? If not, where are they: pre or post? I like how my filters react to my bass->retro signal and then voiced with with GB filters and a couple notch boost in GB lows. I do think I could get a great filter chain signal blended with a fat hifi signal either way but "currently" think it would be nice to have pre eq effects chain since there is only one input.

I used my shuttle max 12 on two Uber1288 cabs the other day. That combination was LOUD and I think a Hifi players delight. No headroom issues at all.Could only imagine what the max 9 will do. I really liked the FET pre on those cabs. Although the TUBE pre had a nice distinctive character with the 1288.
GB has a very nice 2011 roll out.

FET and Tube channel loops are post gain pre eq and filters, master loop is post eq, post filters, pre master volume.

I have found that the MAX preamps ( TUBE and FET ) are things that are very appreciated on a gigging situation..
I usually love a tube pre and the Streamliner I think it will light my fire on a gig that i do often..

But the FET pre on the MAX amps are something that just makes a bass shine. And i really just discovered that with theses new Uber Quad cabs.. I could not tell too much with my old aggy cabs...
The uber Quad 1288 and the MAX FET pre are really something...And the added power of the MAX 9 will be able to drive those 1288s better,,,,

Aside from a lowering of the high pass filter frequency from the Shuttle 6.0 to the 9.0, it seems like the magic in that thick, tubey sound of the 9.0 is from the new PHAT amp section and not the preamp. If this is true, then incorporating that amp into the new Max 9.0 should give it that 9.0 mojo in the tube pre but with a more extensive EQ. I hope this will be the case. The 9.0 mojo combined with that nice FET option would make for a very sweet amp indeed. It would be nice to hear from the Genz team on this. :hyper:

The thing I am wondering is whether this is kind of like the diff between 2 band and 3 band pre's on the bass; where you really get different results with each one. The parametric on the Max amps is more extensive, but the mid centers are different than the S9. One would think you can still get back to the S9 sound near flat, but that has not been my experience. Again, both good sounding pieces of gear, but different. I would also prefer the S9 vibe in the Max 9, but it will be interesting to see if GB can or chooses to pull that off; because it seems it would change the character of the parametric bands as well.

same stuff....same tone. You'll also have the added gain on the front end if you want to overdrive the tube.

Thanks. It looks like the Max 9.0 will bring all of the Shuttle line's best features together with plenty of headroom. I'm gonna have to turn some gear and make room in my rig for this one.
