It can be, depends on the resonance frequency of the mechanical system.

It's also possible that it's a microphonic tube, most likely V1, but I would check the bass first (it's also easier to try). Try tapping on the body of the guitar near the pickups and see if that might excite the oscillation. You might also try another bass as well. I have run into this before whichis why I suggest checking.

Quick (I hope) Streamliner questions from a noob. I just ordered a Streamliner- found a great deal on a 900.

Question 1- I'm new at the whole Speakon thing- I'm assuming the speaker connections in the back of the Streamliner are 4 pole (I sure hope so, b/c the cable that I ordered is 4 pole and now I find out that cable won't fit into a 2 pole socket).

Question 2 (2 part question)- sorry if this has been covered extensively before- I can use the Streamliner as either a preamp only or as a power amp only? And I would do this by using the effects loop, that is plugging in an existing preamp into the "effects in" (or some similar name) and that will disable the Streamliner preamp and use only the power section? Or similarly run a cable from the "effects out" into my power amp and that will disable the power section and will allow me to use the Streamliner as a preamp only?

Again, sorry if this stuff has been covered- I've done some searching through the 50,000 posts and the Genz Benz site and manual and I got answers that were close, but I wanted to make sure. Especially don't want to screw it up and damage anything.

All of our amps use the NL-4 type output so they are compatible with both NL-4 and NL-2 type cables. They are all wired 1+/1-.

Yes, you can use the Streamliner (and all of our amps) as a preamp only and as a power amp only via the effects loop.

Hi guys .

I have buy a Streamliner 600 (about 1 year) and last week i found a little problem with my blue led. They are off ( The three) .
Sometimes they're on, but with a little little light.

I link 3 pics.
First : led on but no intensivity.
Two : the same with front of view.
Three : i start the amp 2 minutes after and they are off . (The amp is on )

I tried fooling around with this setting last night. I was blown away by what was coming out of my cabs. I had the master at 9:00 and it was THUMPING. There is so much going on in this head... I have yet to even really experiment with the GAIN button. I engaged it once and just kinda stood there and said.. "whoa" :eek:. The power this amp produces just amazes me every time i play through it.

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked 10,000,000 times, but I'd like to seek clarification on one thing regarding my STL900:

How often and for what duration is it safe for the peak light to be on? (NOTE: Yes, I have read the section in the manual regarding the peak light.) I have had my STL for about a year now, gig it 2-4 times a week, and couldn't be happier. However, coming from the Ampeg world (dial in your tone and completely ignore the peak light), I'm concerned about the amount of time that the peak light on my STL is on, and whether or not it could result in any damage to the amp or my speakers.

My general settings are:
Gain switch: ON
Vol: 12:00
Gain: 12:00
Bass: 10:30
Mid: 1:30
Mid freq: 600 for clean/fingers, 2.5 for dirty/pick
Treb: 1:00
Master: 12:00

Thanks in advance to anyone who cares to weigh in on this.
