Genz Benz Streamliner, Part 10

Here's an example of my STM-900 running through an Epifani UL-115 cab. This is recorded live using just an Iphone. No FOH support. The videographer was basically standing right in front of me.

Very nice! I tried the "SVT" eq settings someone posted here and the amp rocks (2 MB cabs). I am playing a Ric 4003 and a RoadWorn P with pressure wounds and it sounds awesome. Playing and singing is another story. :crying:

Got to play my STM900 thru an old SVT 610 cab yesterday. Holy Punch! I wouldn't trade the light weight convenience of my NX2 212 (which is capable of very similar tones) but man that old school rock tone was thumping!

Like This HA :D:D

If Fender are smart, they will keep selling the Streamliners and Shuttles rebadged as Fender. But, Fender aren't smart.

This is really off-topic following the previous conversation, but I didn't want to start a brand new thread. I've been using Ampeg heads all my life and love all tube amps. I've used big SVTs and the closest I could ever get back to that would be the new V4 (which sounds awesome!). Anyway, will the streamliner give me the same vibe that I would get from an ampeg all tube amp? PS-I hear it's mid-scooped but I have a pedal board with an Aggie Tone Hammer pedal so I do have an Eq if need be.

Oh ok, I've been using a tone hammer 500 and, while it sounds great, it's quite soft. And by that I mean, I love the sound of new strings on my jazz bass( the clank) if you will. And the tone hammer seems to diminish that, but the mids are very nice and punchy. Could the stl be EQed(with my tone hammer DI) to have a good mid range? I play though a new ampeg svt 212av cabinet.

I purchased my STM 900 for backup on my 70's SVT, and while I A/B'd them to get the same sonic sound, the 3D SVT awesomeness wasn't there... Tone was spot on, it just sounded 2D and a lil different grind than the SVT

Which do I gig with more? The 900 of course! But the SVT makes a cameo at the more noteworthy gigs. But seriously, 8lbs or 85lbs.... Not a hard choice.

How you like that cab? I'm very interested.

That's awesome, thanks guys! I guys I was just worried about it being able to cut through a mix. I've heard that it's heavily mid scooped. But a lot of other reviews say it's very flexible. What gives?

This thing rocks in a mix, I own a sound company and one of my first gigs out with the streamliner (I let the bass player use it so I could get a critical review of the DI) and it just romps in a live mix, great for in-ear sound too, but just sits very nicely in a live mix. Post EQ as well!
