SVT settings have been posted in the past. One version is:
Gain 3 o'clock
Bass 9 o'clock
Mids 9 o'clock
Treble 11 o'clock
Master to taste
Gain switch out
Mids at 220
If you want it to sound "angrier", push in the Gain button and adjust the volume and gain knobs.

TC, I haven't gigged with it yet (I've had it a week) but I've played it a lot and my first thought was-wow! That sounds like an ampeg cab should but I can go lower. I had a 410hld back in the day and loved how it could go low, but that can stayed low. The 212 is very punchy and has that tight mid voicing that I like about ampeg but it works great for 5 string (I use a 5 string Bluesman jazz-style bass). Plus it's 4 ohms and, the same dimensions as the 410he so I can order a cover made for the 410-which is what I did
The stl sounds great but one of the first thing I noticed is that it really attenuates the sound of new strings.
I have no issue what so ever of getting my Streamliner to cut through a live mix. I can also get it to sit in a mix nicely if that is what I want. I am not certain how SVT'ish it is but it has great usable tone.
Hey SkinnyP411 does the SVT 212 AV cab come with casters? I've noticed all pics I've seen they have none.
Unfortunately no:/ I'm sure you could put some on easily enough if you're gifted in that way. However, I am not

It is easy to install casters. If it is the type which the metal receptor that mounts on the amp and you just pop the caster shaft into it. You meerly drill a hole so the receptor portion will recess into the amp and apply the screws. When complete you just push the caster shaft into it until you feel it lock in place. Other types just 4 screws hold it on to the bottom of the amp. It is a no brainer really.
I totally agree with this. Especially since I swapped the V1 tube with a NOS GE5751. It really tightened up the bass and let the mids punch through. The real kicker though was when I paired it with the GB NeoX 212T cab. That really opened this amp up. I am now thinking about pairing it with a pair of GB Uber 115's if I can find them.
I'd recommend the Uber 410 too but if you're set on 15s Ampeg's SVT 15s are a good alternative. I use them with both my SVT-CLs and Streamliner.
I have somewhat of a Dilemma with cabs at the moment. I will soon be getting the new Ampeg V4B reissue so I'm thinking about a pair of GB Uber 115's or the new SVT 212 AV cabs. I need a cab that will pair well with the Streamliner and the V4B.

Sealed cabs sound fantastic with the Streamliner (and the V4B), so to match the vintage styling of the V4B I'd recommend a cab from Fliptops. I have the B15E repro cab and it's wonderful.
There is also a 4x10, a 2x15, and a 4x12 in the range (among others). Pricing is excellent for a custom made, hand built cab ....

The gain button is IMO the key to the Streamliner. Anyone who says this amp isn't very loud for 900 watts hasn't discovered this.
Yeah, my Gain button has been in since a week after I got it - with the 5751, Gain and Volume @ noon, it gives me just what I'm looking for - warm and mostly clean, with just a little growl when I dig in... Also, more than enough power for any situation I've encountered - I've gigged the Streamliner 900 more than my M-pulse 600 since I've gotten it - it's that good...

I played my Streamliner 600 in an outside venue once. Between it, the bass I was using (ESP LTD D-5)and the Eminence Kappalite 3012HO speakers (in 2 GK 112-2 cabs) and using the Gain button it kicked butt. Everyone I was playing with (including me) were surprised. A guitarist I had not met before that day said I had a nice sounding amp. Main 3:00, Volume 1:00, Gain 10:00 The drummer said he could feel it. I was about 4 or 5 feet from him. Had I have been using standard GK 12's I do not think it would have done well though. My opinion is it has as much to do with the speakers in question as to the amp and the EQ of the bass with a built in pre-amp.
