The Ubers are pretty popular withthe Streamliner, but so are the Ampeg 810's. I think some of the players here might be able to give you better suggestions based on their experiences.

I know which one of those two choices I'd rather carry though!

The DI signal comes after the first tube, so it's definitely colored by the input buffer tube. Since tube sound is generally described as warm, I would say yes to your last question.

As far as the sound, I don't have more than one gig with it under my belt, but it sounded very good to me. To qualify that statement, I've used everything from stomp box DI's like the Tonehammer or Enabler to the REDDI.

The Enabler and the Reddi are real class acts, if the streamliner di is of similar quality then I am sure that I will be very happy!

The Streamliner DI is fantastic. I have had nothing but praise from FOH guys and engineers alike.

@agedhorse the first (original) speaker was fine, until I plugged in my Christmas present (Aguilar Octamizer). Even set at low levels that pedal+ the SL gain button in wasted that speaker I think. The second speaker was one that had been "professionally reconed" so I'n hindsight perhaps it's easy to see what the issues were. While I have you, though, is there a cab you'd recommend matching with the SL if I'm looking for that vintage svt tone? The hlf I have is ported and is making things a little boomier than I think I like.

It would match up really well with one or two SVT-410HE cabs, for your stated goal... Personally, I'm getting great results running mine thru a Mesa RR115 or PH215 for an old school rock/blues/country sound...

It's the best sounding DI I've ever heard in an amp - defintiely warmer than the Shuttle series... FWIW, I'm using either a Streamliner 900, Shuttlemax 12.0, or Mesa M-pulse 600 these days - and although all 3 have great DIs, the Streamliner has the best of the 3, IMO...

You'll come home Waaay impressed. First time I printed out all the setting suggestions here. Was helpful, does take a little dialing in till you get to know it. Don't be afraid to turn the the pre-volume way up. I keep mine on 5 o clock and work around that. Master usually stays at 9o clock or less.

i've done at least 300 shows with my streamliner. i've got nothing but praise from foh guys everywhere on my tone. i've used it both pre and post and both sound great. i use it with either my NV215 or my ampeg 810 and both pair wonderfully with it.

Probably awesome. I found I really had to dial back 220Hz on my DB212 though. I was using my passive J bass with single coils and rounds if that helps any. I didn't have the same issue with 220Hz in an NV425.

Thanks. Yeah I've heard these cabs have plenty of mids. So that sounds about right.
1200w rms means it's about to get real loud.

OK, slightly off topic but worth posting. Just got a Shuttle 6.2 in the mail today as a Streamliner backup/practice amp/upright rig amp. What a great little unit! I had a Shuttle 6.0 a few years ago and sold it to fund the Streamliner. The 6.2 is a real improvement. Got it for $399 on Amazon; probably the last of the GB closeouts.

Anyway, anyone looking for a great amp to supplement a Streamliner need look no further.

Strange thing happened yesterday, I fired my my Streamliner up, but it was very week sounding, only giving approx half the power. All the Tubes where glowing, thoughts anyone?
