Genz Benz Streamliner, Part 10

One of the amps had a sticker on top, which did not want to come off. I opted to take the top off, so the Goo Gone would not seep down into the chassis.
Got a gut shot while I was in there.

Then I got curious about the other amp, and found out that the QC Dates are 1/24/2011 and 2/9/2011. Pretty close.

It's been over a month and I still haven't had a chance to try it with a band, but I LOVE how it sounds and feels playing it at lower volume through Markbass NY121 cabinet.
Mesa is more 2D, syrupy fat and darker, and a obviously safer match for matching the whatever backline I get at the gigs.
But Streamliner is brighter, has a potential to sound fatter (and muddier if you're not careful), and I love how it feels when playing, sounds 3D. I would love if I could make it work in my band, can't wait for the upcoming rehearsals and gigs :).

Your EQ is very similar to mine. The biggest difference being that I normally run my gain somewhere between 12:00 and 2:00 depending on bass.

Seeing this inside AMP shot reminds me of our crew working together back in the GB days, and that we lost one of our great previous GB employees a couple of weeks back, Chris.
He did so much of our final QC of the amps, working in our lab next to our current GENZLER engineer, Scott Andres. Chris was a great guy, good player, could always count on him and we could not have done all we did within GB without him. This QC sticker is in his handwritting.

I will miss him and will always treasure those memories.

I own the 900 and it's my all time favourite amp. What I like most about the amp is the pillowly bottom end.

Looking for some opinions on any new amps that can sound close to the Streamliner 900. I'd like to buy a second amp, but because the Streamliner is out of production and used ones are getting a little old, I'm wanting something new.

I haven't found a new amp that does what the Streamliner does. IMHO if want the Streamliner sound, your best bet is to get another Streamliner and sending it in to @agedhorse for a check up. Once he's done you should be good for a very long time.

Fellow streamliners, interesting that I posted just the other day about loving the amp. Turned it on this morning and nothing. Power is on, blue lights are not (this is almost always the case) and no sound out of the speakers. The little orange glow I would normally see is not there. Ran my guitar cable in to the effects in and got tone but just a dry tone, the preamp controls do nothing.

This is my first tube amp and I'm guessing a tube has died? Could anyone give me some direction as to what to do next, or is this something that has to go to an equipment tech for work?
