Got my 900 from YOMS today, i ordered a 600 in late january then called in early feb to change to a 900. Mike at YOMS was more then happy to accomodate even tho my original 600 was almost in. He told me i would be in the next 900 order, and would be a few weeks before i got it i hand. Worth the wait, I only had time to run it a few minutes thru my hartke hydrive 410, +1 to all the feedback already posted about its tone and capabilities. I caint wait to connect it to my avatar tb153, but that is at the rehearsal spot (40 min away). Thanks to all who have given insightful and technical info, really helped me out. Thanks to mike at YOMS.

Question for the peanut gallery. I replaced all my speakers in my 4x10 cab so now it will be 600w at 8ohms. My other cab is a w1x15 at 8ohms. This 15" cab speaker is only 160w. With the 600 I have coming it will be putting 300w to both cabs.

Here is the question, would you replace it with a 15" that can handle 300w or leave it alone? I'm leaning towards replacing it as you can get a 15" for around 100 bucks.

My current headphone amp can't handle my 250 ohm headphones, too much resistance. What would be the best headphone ohm load for the SL 900? 32, 80 or 250?
I wonder if I plug in an ipod into the Aux in if that would be amplified at all? The manual leads me to say no... I'd probably need a low resistance set of cans then 32 or 80 ohms
Any help?

Not sure what would be best. I will have to look at my Sennheiser Headphones to see what they are. They work really well and my AKG's not as good.

I know the Aux in works great with phones and the one on the Streamliner sums the two sides.

I'm looking at the block diagram

It looks like the Aux in comes BEFORE the master volume. Maybe it can push my 250 ohm cans?

The headphone jack is at the end of the chain which means you should get the whole 3 tube post EQ tone in the headphones?

Really? With a 6mo old baby I'm playing through my headphone amp 100x more than my amp.

I may be wrong, I'm not that great at reading the block diagrams.

I'm using a Raven Labs PHA-1 by the way.

Don't deny that baby bass. Blast him! I played bass all through my son's developmental years and early childhood. It must have soaked into his DNA because now at sixteen, he's a damn good player himself. :bassist:

The bass will hit me in the brain by her mommy if I wake her up. I actually got my GK NEO 115 III to play upstairs & move around a lot when I'm watching her.

But alas... most of the time its through my headphone amp.

If I find out that the SL 900 can push my 250 ohm cans, the master volume controls the Aux In too & the tone is post EQ from the headphones I'd be in heaven!

So, depending on the sound quality, Ken may be letting me borrow his SL900 for Saturday's web cast of my bands gig (we're not doing the web cast, it's done by the bar or something).
Here's the link for it:
http://livedetroit.tv/LiveDetroit/BarM.html
Click on "the Blue Goose" bar.
We start at 9:30. If ya care, I'm playing both Friday and Saturday.
My rig will be my 9.0 thru a Bag End S15D-X.
Sadowsky JJ5 & my V-Bass equipped PRS 4.
If the sound quality doesn't suck, Ken will bring his SL900 down for my first set and you guys can here it "real time" on the gig.

I am not sure what ohm my headphones are, but I play through my SL often through them, and my ipod. Use the post gain volume for bass level and master volume for ipod levels.
I really like this amp

How far up is your volume? If you have room to spare it could probably push more. My headphone amp is ALWAYS at 75%+ with my crappy pair (most like under 80 ohms)
Is the tone through the headphones as good as the amp through the cab?
