Genz Benz Streamliner; Part 4

Since the last thread closed I'm sure my comment will get missed so I'll ask again. This is for the Genz Marketing man that has been chiming in on the threads.

How many streamliner's can the factory put out per day? That might help some of us understand the waits for product.

Not to answer for GB, but I don't see where a certain daily production number can help. Seems to me there are too many other variables, one being the number of units ordered by dealers. One dealer may order more than enough to meet its demand while another may under-order against its demand.

And like most manufacturers, I'd imagine a daily output will vary based on required production runs of other lines as well as current and projected sales volumes. It's a delicate balance for any manufacturer to accurately forecast unit volumes against current and future orders.

If your concern is TB users from England and Australia posting they can't get product til Mid-March, I'm not surprised by this.
That's a long supply chain to fill.

GuitarCenter... $382 is really tempting for a Neo 115 putting out 400W. I would imagine that would pair well for a SL600 for a super portable unit.

My epifani 310 NYC & 70 lb 2400W rack doesn't travel well! HA!

Oh boy a 115 with my 212.:hiding:

That should unleash the mix cab fury from above!

What about a 112 and 212, mixed cab? Or does it pass muster since it's the same size speaker? Donning flame suit.

Ken-
I had a similar situation develop with my SL 900..mine was in the same batch as yours and came from Rocket Music. Both Greg and Jeff were very responsive and I spoke to Jeff Genzler in person late(after normal business hours). He even called back with follow up questions and shipped overnight to me the following business day, promising no problems. After two weeks I can say there have been no probs and it is every bit as great an amp as people have mentioned here.

FWIW I like it with the P, J, and my classic stingray..have my gain around 1-2 oclock and pre volume hovering around noon, cut the bass and treble(slightly), boost the mids to 2 oclock. I actually played a lot with the mids yesterday and love switching from 220 to 600, depending on the tone required. For me the mid boost tends to stay set at 220. At 600 it worked well with the 'ray, adding some bite without clank. I added a tonehammer to the jazz to fatten up the mids a bit but it sounds great straight with a P and with the MM...
IMO of course

Mark

I never boost the 2.5k .. But i was on a bacline rental gig the other day. had an old Ampeg 810 cab..with my SL900.. I boosted the 2.5k a little and also dipped the Bass knob to about 10:00 - 10:30 sounded perfect with the NYC Sad PJ5. It made the rig growl. yet have some clarity to poke through without being clanky for a no tweet cab in a rock situation.

Glad you are happy with this amp!

What cabs are you finding it pairs up with nicely? I have a Thunderchild right now. I'm looking into getting a bigger cab down the road.

Only really spent time with it with my AE410. That is such a perfect match that I'm not really that motivated to try other cabs. That is really a nice match, and I assume the Uber410 would be at least somewhat similar.

It sounds good with the AE212 also if you want it deeper and smoother, and I would assume that would line up nicely with the Uber212 also.

I would like to order one sample of the SL900 through your AE212 with a grindy Jbass. Well that is if you are taking orders like fast food.:D

How did the SL push the cab? No headroom issues? Running the SL through a big cab has been a huge question of mine.

Ken... you're the best at spending my money ;)
Whats $100 ten years from now anyway plus it adds to the resale value IF its needed for diapers or food with all this money printing going on.

:D Seriously though, I think money well spent if you are ever in a situation of really having to wump. And +1 to the resale also.

Also, that 'auditaper' type master volume pot is great... allows for very even, slow, gradual increases in volume, versus, for example, the 'off to stupid loud' tapers of the GK Micros or Mesa M6. Hard to 'make a mistake' and pump a ton of volume in by accident with a smaller cab.
