I ordered mine from Greg at Rocket. Frankly, after bad experiences with some other online "low price/great deal" sellers, my money only goes to places with *great* customer service like Rocket, Glenn at Bass Specialties, etc. Ymmv.

I agree - but my $749 bought the Streamliner 900 from a local Mom & Pop shop that is a Genz dealer, and he gave a me a t-shirt for free too! Can't beat that...and you have to support the little guys.

I'd be interested why such big price differences? Greg is a great TB supporter and gives a fair discount on all GB items..hmm...

Who is this mystery mom and pop? very interested in this info for future purchases (like uber cabs..do they carry those?)

I think I might be a moron. I have heard great things about the MESA/Boogie BASS 400 (non +) and the Ampeg SVT II (non-pro) so I have bought one of each in the last year. Now I hear I could have all of the greatness of these heads but with 900 SS watts for $100 less than I got my 200 Watt all tube MESA? And please don't even get me started on the SVT 2 ... I feel as if I have just been raped, I paid $1100 (plus duty, 1/2 shipping, etc.) for it. If the MESA started at $835 and cost me almost $1000 at the door, I don't even want to think about how much the SVT is going to be with how much it weighs ... I hope this head continues with the current trend of minis and simply can't beat an high powered all tube head, not for any of your sakes but for mine. Cheers.

It doesn't take a phd to find the GB dealer in SC near Charleston. Not sure that this deal violates MAP or dealer agreements though. Greg will continue to get my biz - he's always done well by me. A few bucks in either direction don't make that much difference in the end. Customer service does.

I have fond memories of a Mesa Bass 400. I can not imagine going back to that kind of weight now though after the performance of my Shuttle 9.0.

I played my beloved SVT non pro for years...
Then i got my shuttle 9.. different animal but just as loved.
The Shuttle9 is louder , punchier, more dynamic and 20x lighter for my current needs.
I can only speculate how the Streamliner 900 will be.. I have not played it yet. But the 3 tubes in the preamp are what the SVT 2 non pro uses in its pre..
Of course circuit design is different but there is something about 6 stages of gain that can not be reckoned with..
Thick and gooey with or without overdrive.. I really like the sound of a tube amp when it is in its clean mode .
Im thinking i can get this exact recipe in the Streamliner 900.. and its only about 6 pounds i think..
My SVT2 has always been my amp to mic up when i do a recording thing through various cabs..
Would like to try that with the Streamliner...
mmmm
GAS !!
