For the record I think the ear test is better than specs, but it's almost impossible to get a company to agree to let you gig test a cabinet before buying.
Testing in the music store is vastly inferior to an FR chart and displacement limitations for my purposes. I've had far better luck with good specs than lousy test conditions. You can never turn it up loud enough or have enough of a mix to work with.
For me, judging a cabinet (or any piece of gear, basses included) is like this:
1. Gig test
2. Specifications
3. Music store/bedroom test
In terms of accurately predicting whether I'll like something. I trust specs a lot more than I trust the music store or bedroom![]()
is this going to be an "uber" looking cab? I love the look of the uber series

-1 I'll take actually hearing something over every other option. Except when it comes to relying on published specs, then I'll take every other option. In terms of accurately predicting whether I'll like something. I trust specs a lot more than I trust the music store or bedroom![]()
Passive radiators won't make it any more a bass monster than a lot of extra internal space and a big port would.
I hope that it sounds balanced. My concern even more with that is the weight to volume ratio. I don't see how it could outperform my 15/6 and by my ballpark numbers it'll probably weigh the same or more (probably more).
Hasbeen, can you find out the weight?

You've never taken an amp/cab you loved in the bedroom to a show or a rehearsal and had it underwhelm you? I have, quite a few times. Never found a substitute for testing at gig volume with guitars and drums.
And combined with that question: Do you know how interpret specs like FR graphs, polar response charts, and displacement limitations - and have you ever had accurate ones to work with?
yes...it will be part of the Uber line.
Usually my hold-up isn't the product...it is getting our sales team in the loop and the necessary marketing support materials together.
It's really just four of us....me, Jeff, Andy and Scott. Designing the product and building it is one thing- doing all the rest of the support, like the fact that the site is down and I didn't know it, is another.
I've done lots of special things, according to my mother. I won't admit to doing anything freaky unless you have video.![]()
rpsands lives in AZ why dont you let him come to the factory and try out the cabinet personally, might even let him help design it since he seems to be an expert.
