The guys are all good. Service and vibe are great. I went there because of the Genzler gear and found a really great shop. I combo'd up a MG800 with a BA12-3 for my first purchase and Ryan knocked a few bucks off which was nice.
Just wish it was closer as I'm on the other side of the GTA.

Yeah they threw in a nice speaker cable with my ba12-3 since I took the floor model...

Yep! That's the way I run it at my restaurant gig with small stage - small footprint AND you can hear it!

Yeah, as a stage monitor (esp. close situations) running the cab on it's side will cause the vertical dispersion to be better - out in the venue, probably not so much (the horizontal coverage will be less than it would be run in normal orientation).

Yes, this is absolutely fine if this dispersion better fits your needs on tight stages. It's a choice of what dispersion parameters better fit the stage and venue--in relation to where you are as the player. I know of a couple of guys that stack a BA210-3 flat and another vertically and rave about the results.
We just supply the ingredients, you do the cookin'!!

So I thought I would throw this out there as I figured many of you have done some type of A/B testing between the Magellan and some other amps. In the last couple of weeks I have done some comparisons by ear (nothing scientific) between the Magellan and a few of my amps when it hit me, I have not compared it to the NEO PAK 3.5 which is an awesome amp.

So I set them up together and started trying them out knowing full well that the Magellan was going to be quite a bit different. What I didn't expect was how similar they were going to actually sound with just a small amount of EQ adjustment on the part of the Magellan. I love the tone on the NEO PAK set flat, with the mid frequency set at 8:00, and being able to get a very similar tone out of the Magellan with a lot more slam has just totally made my day.

I can't remember the exact settings I used since I am not at home, but I believe I dropped the bass to about 11:00, mids was left at 12:00, I think the mid frequency was set at about 12:30 not sure though and the treble bumped up to 1:00 with Contour A engaged but the shape knob off if anyone was curios as to how the NEO PAK sounded. I mention the shape knob because there is still a difference in sound when toggling between Contour A and B and the Shape knob off. Oh yeah, Drive was not engaged. I would say it is a good 95% there, but with the headroom and slam of the Magellan.:hyper:

I am definitely going to be gigging it this weekend with those settings. :bassist:

I used my MG350 combo tonight in a jazz quartet in a medium room. Drums, guitar and keys. Fairly loud. The Combo KILLED it. I hung on my B string all night. I thought I'd need another BA10-2 to make a mini stack but I don't think I will. It sounded so good. Had it 1/2 and 1/2 on gain and master. EQ pretty much flat and blue contour around 1:00. What a great little one handed carry.

Now to sell my BA12-3...

Glad I was able to help make that happen! I am so happy with the 800 and equally happy to know the 350 found a home with you. A match made in bass heaven! :)

I didn't notice a big difference in feel, but I only gigged each one once, and the 800 didn't get pushed hard at all. I also don't need the drive section and love my MG350 combo. I used it for a jazz quartet gig with a guitar, keys, and drums. Pretty loud. It kept up no problem with gain and master at noon and a pretty flat EQ and handled my Roscoe B string with ease.
