Genzler Amplification Club

Question???
I run both my MG350 and shuttle 6.2 through two Mesa subway 1x12s. Sounds really good. But I’ve been thinking about going with two BA 10-2 instead because of all the talk on here. I’ve play through one at the shop, but they don’t have two they’d have to order another if I go that way. Thoughts on how those will compare to the Mesa 12s?

I’ve owned the Mesa Subway gear and used their 12’ cabs. To me the Genzler arrays are much better. I’ve had 3-12’s, 2-210’s and now have 2 separate Genzler 350 stacks using 2 of the 10-2 arrays and they are fabulous. You simply can’t beat what they do. Played really large venues down to small churches of 100-350 in seating and every soundman I’ve seen loves it.

I ordered a set of the Baer casters. I love my cart(Krane AMG 500), but having wheels on the cab would make some schleps a bit easier. I hate the thought of drilling into my 410-3, but it needs to be done. Anyone else, besides Andy Irvine used the Baer casters?

I'm still seriously contemplating a BA 210-3/BA 410-3 stack. Other than the impedance difference, I'm trying to think of reasons not to do it. It's not much bigger(size-wise or weight-wise)than my cart, so the schlep isn't really an issue and the heads I'm using are fine with impedance load, so...

+1 on the Home Depot casters installed on a BA410-3. I did check with Mr Genzler first about installing casters and was advised as to which length screws to use.

So, I played at another church last night that wants me to play there regularly as their service bass player. The MOM said I didn't have to bring my own rig because the church has their own I could use.
It's a Fender Rumble 150!! :unsure:
What do I do?

I was in a similar situation for the largest church in our area. I was asked to fill in and played a couple times using their cheaper Peavey combo amp. Well after a couple weeks I took mi Genzler 350 stack and played it. When packing up after that service the Pastor come up to me and told me to order the church a Genzler 350 stack like mine. I was happy to say the least lol.

It's a Rumble 150, too! Not even the 200 or 500!!
I'll play through the Rumble, simply because I have never played through one, just to let them , and me, hear what it sounds like... Then take my BA12-3 with the MG800 the following service to let them hear what a bass rig should sound like.

Have to share something about last night:
Had a typical bar gig at a place I’d never been so not knowing exactly the situation I brought both my 12-3 slant and straight and my rack (Demeter and crown amp) as well as my 350 just in case. It’s a trio rock cover band gig, not blaring loud but it is rock and roll after all.

When I got inside place was about 1/2 full but we had a space restriction for setup so I’m figuring I’d just use the 350, and the guitar player says he didn’t think I needed both cabinets but I had already brought both in so I figured I would. Then he asks if I could put 1 cabinet on his side so he could put something on it so I said sure and I wired it to use anyway figuring it would spread the bass out onto his side also.

So we get setup and are about to start and the place is really packed now and I’m getting concerned that the 350 won’t cut it as the bass won’t be in the PA but I’m not going to deal with changing now and figure if there’s an issue I’ll swap after the first set.

So let me tell you, I had the volume just past 12:00 with the yellow setting and the Master around 10:00 (1/3 up) and all else flat and I can’t believe how much volume and headroom I had with both cabinets. I was using my J bass that I just recently put in a Sadowsky on board pre into and it just sounded amazing. In the 3rd set a friend of the guitar player who played bass came up for a couple of songs so I was able to get out and walk around the room and it sounded great everywhere in the place. Super well balanced tone and clear.

So before this gig the 350 to me was really my small combo setup with 1 of the 12-3 as I’d never tried it for anything else and now I’m really wondering what kind of volume people are using the 800 at because the 350 can cover way more than I thought. As much as I like my rack with the Demeter and Crown amp I have to say it’s going to be hard to decide taking that next gig...
350+2 12-3 = killer (even if not as cool as the 800!)

Well, I don't know how this compares to our different playing situations, but just for volume starters I generally set my 800 Master Volume to 12:00 and the Clean Volume to 11:00 with bass Volume all the way up, then I will adjust the Master Volume as needed or the bass volume when required. I use those volume settings to start for my different cabinet configurations: stand-alone 410-3, paired 12-3/Avatar 2x10 (Church), and paired 12-3/fEARful 12/6/1 (bar gigs).
