I do like the drive channel...

If it were me - I would still get the 800. I would definitely bring 2 cabinets if I needed it louder. I think the only danger zone is 1 cabinet where you need it loud and turn the amp up to 3/4 or more. Even then if you’re using compression it could keep any dangerous spikes down.

Just to throw a further wrinkle at you ... maybe check out the acoustic array as well. Supposed to be really good with UB

I do have a Strymon Deco that works well to get the tubey dist I like, so might settle for the 350 after all. Sorry, bad with counting it all, is the 350 failsafe powerwise with 1 and 2 x 10-2s?

Yes. You could do three 10's by setting the proper impedance on the back of the amp. Otherwise just plug in the extra cabinet, no worries

I'm currently running the 350 with a 12-3 under it. I'll be adding another 12-3 when I get around to it for a 10, 12, 12 stack.

Merry Christmas to me!

Just bought TWO 12-3s from my buddies at Cream City Music in Milwaukee to go with the Magellan 800 I picked up a few weeks back. Can't wait to hear them together! Alas, they only had one 12-3 in stock so I have to wait until they receive the other from Jeff and crew (that's a hope-yer-shipping-this-week-hint/wink to Jeff!!!). :)

I think you’ll be amazed with how good the single 12-3 sounds and how capable it is alone...

I bet. I'll have to "suffer" with only one for a short while... :)

I plan to keep one cab at our band's rehearsal space, and one at my house, only transferring the amp. For gigs, I'll be bringing both cabs for great gobs of Genzler glory!

Am sitting here jamming and decided to try my tube works 7200 1x15 combo which had been staring at me for quite a while.... Switched back to the Genzler... And there's just so much more balls with the 350 combo on top of a 12-3 that I will be letting the tubeworks go, no point in keeping it. Always found it a bit "crispy" for my taste anyway.

Footswitch is just for going between Clean and Drive Channels, I use a tuner pedal for mute.
It mutes and gets me in tune.

I got me one of those fancy basses with a volume knob on it...

Actually I get it - when changing basses nice not to have the horrible noise...

I did 2 things - 1: I use a wireless and all of my basses are already plugged into the transmitters so no big noise when I swap (this is my live rig)...

2: My backup cable has one of those switch contacts from neutrik so it mutes as I unplug... I just got the plug and soldered it to my existing cable - much cheaper than buying a cable with one already on it.

Here is the one I use (you can get them in straight versions as well)

I think this is the future... :bassist:

The scenario I'm describing is; a) between pieces - there may be a (long) speech (worship service) - b) I want to retain volume setting as it was at soundcheck c) don't want the bass to sound if I'm putting it down on a stand. Would rather not add the tuner pedal, although that WOULD solve the issue. Any other thoughts?

Not ideal but ... If you pin your volume to max it will always be the same when you light it up again.

Volume pedal - but if you're averse to the tuner, likely not a solution...

Stand next to amp - push the mute button on the amp...

I think there may be a switched version of the plug I showed you with a manual activation maybe by amphenol - have to look around.
