Genzler gear represented at the Mid-Georgia GTG today!

350 Combo stacked on BA12-3 and two Greenboy stacked under the MG800.

The 350 Combo got the most attention and I would unplug the BA12-3 during tryouts just so the player could hear the Combo alone, then with the BA12-3, which usually got dropped jaw with wide-eyed reactions!

Question or those that know more than me about running effects. I just received my new Nordstrand Starlifter Preamp DI and will be running it on my board for House feed and to run to my Genzler 350 stack. On the back of the head it has a Aux In? What does that do when I use that from the Starlifter DI instead on the front Instrument in? What is best?

The Aux in bypasses the EQ front of the head so you are using just the Power Amp. If you want just the Starlifter sound then that is a good choice. If you want to utilize the Eq on the Magellan also then plug in the front. No wrong or right, just different.

Question for you though, I noticed you have been bouncing around with different DI's and testing mic's and positions for your cabs in this and other threads.
The Magellan's have on them one of the best DI's made, why are you not just using the head's DI instead of messing with mic's and add on DI boxes?

The Genzler DI is the best DI's I've ever used on a amp head but with the main church I play at the amp has severe feedback when turned off. With DI's or preamp pedals it doesn't do that so I've been looking for a good way to get the tone I like without using the church Genzler DI. This Starlifter is as good as any DI or Preamp I've used also. It also gives me a small pedalboard I can take on small IEM gigs and keep it light.

I remember that now. Why not just push the mute and leave it on?

I use the amp's mute if passive bass or turn the volume knob on my active bass and leave the amp on from 7:00am until 12:15pm every Sunday. Cabless used as a DI box only.
As an extra measure all the Sound Men mute all channels except the Pastors Mic during Sermons.

Do love the portability of the separate pedal you are going for when ampless and would love a review when you have used the Starlifter a bit.

Yes, Aux In works well for this.
How do you like the Starlifter?
