I think I will pair up my 4 Genzler 10-2 arrays and Head just to see what it would sound like. Might scare the lead Guitarist to death but would definitely be fun. Would have to stack them in 2 sets of 2 as I wouldn't trust it being stacked all vertically.

Along with the the padded covers they need to offer Genzler-branded asbestos suits as I suspect the heat problem was due to the 3x Genzler hotness pointed at your back.

How well does that “PJ” sound like each? Are the pickups in the “right” locations?

Not very well. It's a modded Skyline Scheff (2005?) that I bought new. Wasn't crazy about the stock pickups, or the location of the pickups, or the preamp. But the bass is wonderful to play. After much pickups swapping I settled on the Lakland Hanson Vintage pickups and Hanson preamp with two Blends. One Blend is betweent the two J's and the other Blend is between the P and both J's. IIRC the bridge pickup is 10% overwound. LOVE the single coils. The P soloed is kinda "meh" to my ears BUT it sounds stellar mixed in with the bridge pickup. 90% of the time I run the P and bridge pickup with the Blend juuuuust towards the bridge, without the neck pickup.

The P and bridge J are closer to the bridge than a standard PJ. It's kinda like if a Stingray and PJ bass got drunk and had sloppy sex.....The resulting child would be the P and bridge J.

It's been my main player for some time and a LOT of good basses have come and gone in the meantime.

You may have posted this already some pages ago, but what head are you using? Wondering how you can plug 4 into a Genzler head.

Hey have 2 different 350 heads paired each with 2 of the 10-2 arrays. One I keep at the main church I play at weekly 2 services and the other stack I kee at home to practice in and use for travels to other churches and playing with other praise bands. I’ve had pretty much all the Genzler heads and stacks of 12-3’s and 210-3 stacks paired with the 800 Genzler heads and honestly the 350 stack just kills for me.

Sorry for the delay. Yes, the latching type should be just fine. Really any single button simple foot switch will work for the channel switching function.

I use the BOSS ES-5 effects switching system. Works perfectly and I can use any effect along with any channel at a touch of a button. See below. However, if you are looking for just channel switching, the FS-5L will definitely do the trick!

Personally, I’ve not used/heard a GK Neo 212-II cabinet, but since you are in a Genzler Club thread the Genzler cabinet would sound better and be a better quality cabinet.

I’ve had 2 of the gks and i still have the older Genz 212t. I could have lived with the tone of either, although I slightly preferred the Genz. What really sold me on the genz was the vertical form factor (That dispersion thing is no joke. It’s easier to hear yourself everywhere) and seemingly more capable speakers (I could max out the gks a little too easy, never a prob on the genz).

Everyone’s tastes are different so some may prefer the gk.

Having said that - a friend of mine was a gk player, switched to eden and once he tried my BA cabinet - bought 2 of them.

The 212 is a more traditional design and would likely be closer to the gk. If it uses the same drivers as the BA cabs - they would be faital- best drivers on the market IMO.

I have a GK NEO 212-II that I use with a MB Fusion 800, which I like, but my new Genzler BA cabs are amazing. Not sure how long I can keep my GK rig as my extra amp but the Genzler setup is my number one.

As to the first question, I can only assume that in the quest for most players to find and acquire smaller, lighter, and more accurate/transparent cabs - and with the advent of 12", 10" and even smaller drivers that can provide seriously deep bass - the 15" driver for personal bass amplification might be obsolescent for most. But he'll probably give you his take if he sees this...

As for the HPF, the manual indicates that it has "a precision high order active high pass filter" in both Magellan amps. I don't have the specifics of what the frequency, slope, etc. of those filters are, but one would assume that it is low enough to ensure that high-gain active electric basses with low B strings still have plenty of guts (because they do).

Anyone besides me using the new MG12TV small 112 cab yet? No gigs scheduled so home use only but am really liking it. When i ordered i was assuming i would end up choosing between it or the BA110 but sound different enough that i am glad i have both. I'm using the MG350 amp.

When I think of 15’s I think of old school sound. If you can, give one of the Genzler Magellan cabs with the tweet turned off a try. Your ears will tell you if it’s what you are looking for. If it works it will be a helluva lot nicer to schlep. Happy hunting!

Speaking of old school, I feel like my 4x10's are squarely in that category. A hartke xl and an old Trace Elliot. Haven't used them in a long while and with my new gear may as well open space in the garage. They're the last of my college-era cabinets.
